The Iranian police has prohibited Battlefield 3, which causes that the game can not be sold in Iran.
The reason for this is because, in the fictive campaign, the American army fights in the Iranian capital, Tehran, and that’s something that crosses the line for the country.
This is the first time that the gouvernment has banned a videogame in Iran.
The authorities claim that they prohibit Battlefield 3 because of an online petition that has been signed by 5000 Iranian minors. Electronic Arts will not have any problem because of this, because they have no official retailers in the country. Stores that are selling the game, are selling illegal copies, so the government is actually helping EA.
