Review: Capcom Fighting Collection

Welcome to our review of Capcom Fighting Collection; true heaven for arcade fighting games.

Capcom Fighting Collection features legends from Capcom’s competitive arcade gaming history, faithfully reproduced to play just like they did back in the arcades! The Collection includes additional settings to improve your at-home experience, and also supports online multiplayer, so you can battle friends and opponents across the world from the comfort of your own room!

Ten of Capcom’s greatest fighting classics are faithfully reproduced from the game’s beloved original versions. Line-up includes games from the Street Fighter series, all five titles from the Darkstalkers series, and the cute-but-fierce Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo and Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix. And don’t forget Red Earth, appearing for the first time on home consoles and PC!

Introducing brand-new features to enhance the experience of the original games, as well as useful settings to make it easy for new and returning players to join in the fun. And just like in the original arcade versions, you can battle with friends offline, or test your skills against the CPU opponent, too!

Need to practice combos? Specific match-ups? No problem! Hop into Training Mode and practice at your own pace with a variety of customizable options. You can customize the options for some simple practice or even set up specific training dummy behavior perfect for advanced players. Polish your moves and soon you’ll be going toe-to-toe against the best!

Capcom Fighting Collection might be the ultimate dream for lovers of fighting games. So many great classics all in 1 package and even for me, once an avid Street Fighter 2 lover, I can not really get enough of this collection. I must say one thing though, I used to be a lot better…

As a collector as well, these are pretty much all top-notch games to just own in any collection. I could say so many things about this game, but it is just all about the better retro fighting games. Sure, these are 8bit or 16bit games, don’t go expecting a top-notch King Of Fighters or Street Fighter 6, no, this is basically what gaming looked like in my youth.

Just being able to start a collection like Darkstalkers, back when a roster of fighters just had more or less 10 fighters, not like the 500 fighters some games feelingly have. Back in a time when you could really still master all the fighters without making it feel like a full-time job.

And I know, this might exactly be why some of you do not want to consider this game. The lack of variety is solved by the fact you have more than a few top titles. The graphics are what they are, they were great when I grew up, and even now, I just look at them in admiration. Surprisingly I never found one of those games to look outdated.

In conclusion, if you like fighting games or retro, this is simply a must-buy collection. Simple as that, now Fight!
