Welcome to our review of Active Neurons 2, the successor to one of my personal favorite puzzle games!
Active Neurons 2 is a game that trains the player in spatial logical thinking.
Your main task in the game is to collect enough energy to discover the 12 greatest inventions of mankind.
Look for the right way to energy charges using obstacles in the level.
Avoid dangerous obstacles, they are destructive!
Teleport from one space to another to get closer to your goal.
Solve tasks on memory and orientation in space to get to the blocked areas.
Destroy, move, and combine objects on the levels to get to energy sources.
Main features:
– More than 150 logical tasks and subtasks;
– More than 20 types of unique mechanics;
– Ability to combine mechanics;
– Nice minimalistic style with beautiful graphic effects;
– Pleasant musical and audio accompaniment, improving immersion in the gameplay.
When I heard there was going to be a second Active Neurons game, I was thrilled to finally get more levels of a game that I described as damn near perfect but missing a shitton of levels to really shine brightly. Now we got more of those bonus levels and I still have the same impression… I want more levels because I adore this game!
The principle is still the same, find the golden way to get from your departure point to the end. Avoid the obstacles that trigger instant replay from the start like flying objects, spikes, … Get around dead zones in the level and really stretch your spatial thinking to the max!
I still adore the way this game is so darn accessible! It is too easy to get into a level and the game just pretty much learns you step by step on what to do and how to play! Despite being easy it first, it still does get more interesting towards the end and before you know it, you will be scratching your head more than once during a level…
Graphically, Active Neurons 1 and 2 are not the most impressive of games, but I do like the sleek design. I would not really change anything other than maybe some added colors but even that is just making the game bigger.
What I would love though, a ton of more levels, haha. This game is just so great, my sole problem with it is that I finished it. I am currently without levels and would love to keep playing!
In conclusion, when your sole issue with a game is wanting more levels, you know it is a great game!
