The Game Awards offers a yearly event filled with world premieres and first looks at some upcoming games. In this article, we take a look at some of the big reveals.
We kick things off with the trailer of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch’s newest game. This trailer was promised to air during The Game Awards and PlayStation kept this promise. Besides the epic gameplay, we finally got a confirmed release date, this one is coming during the Summer of 2020:
Moving over to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 with some DLC news. The first big expansion is called Rise of the Phoenix and is releasing December 23th. The DLC adds some new characters such as Gambit, Iceman, and Cable. Take a first look at what this expansion brings to the table:
The Sharks return in Maneater. This game was revealed during E3 2019 and conquered the hearts of many thanks to its absurd concept. The developers called it the Grand Theft Auto of sharks and it’s releasing in May 2020 on all major platforms. During The Game Awards, we saw some new footage:
Moving over to another anticipated game: No More Heroes 3 – The Return. We finally got the see more of this sequel, coming to Nintendo Switch in 2020. The trailer itself is a typical Suda51 trailer filled with strange events and a gorgeous visual style, take a look:
Also making a return is the Final Fantasy VII remake, releasing for PlayStation 4 on March 3rd. The new trailer focuses on Cloud Strife:
Staying in the PlayStation realm, we also got a first look at an upcoming PlayStation 5 game from Gearbox called Godfall. This game will release on PlayStation 5 and the Epic Game Store during the Holidays of 2020. It’s described as a combination of a shooter and slasher:
Time for another Nintendo Switch game. It has been rumoured for quite a while but now Bravely Default 2 finally got official! This sequel of the 2012 Nintendo 3DS title will release in 2020 on Switch. As you can see in the gorgeous trailer this sequel will come with a new story and some new heroes:
Time for a teaser surprise. From the creators of PUBG comes a new mysterious game called Prologue. There’s nothing really revealed here but this game is said to use some new technologies, we’ll see what this means in the future:
The return of Ori and the Will of the Wisps was a bittersweet one. Xbox revealed a new impressive gameplay trailer but it also comes with the sad news we’ll have to wait an extra month before the game hits the stores. Judging on the trailer, it will be worth waiting for.
Another world premiere was Sons of the Forest, a sequel to the cult game The Forest, which released on PlayStation 4 and PC. The sequel is coming and we saw a first terrifying teaser but besides that, there’s nothing to report at this moment:
Another reveal came from Perfect World Entertainment, showcasing their upcoming action-rpg mmo Magic: Legends:
The news kept coming as Xbox demonstrated another world premiere look at Gears Tactics. This turn-based strategy game is set in the Gears of War universe and will release on April 28th for Steam, Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass:

Moving over to some smaller but yet interesting games, kicking things off with Weird West. This new Devolver Digital PC game brings us a fantasy version of The Wild West where Cowboys lived together with strange beings, we’ll let the trailer do the talking:
Time for a big surprise. The Wolf Among Us 2 is back in development! It’s unclear on what platforms this will release but it’s good to have this title officially back in production:
Slightly Mad Studios, the team that brought us Project Cars, comes with a new game called Fast and Furious Crossroads. Based on the famous movies, this game will release in May 2020 on Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4:
To conclude, Xbox also revealed their new Xbox, previously known as Project Scarlett. The Xbox Series X is launching during the Holidays of 2020 and also comes with an impressive looking sequel of Hellblade.
