Welcome to our summary review of the Nintendo Direct at E3 2019, it is finally here and despite some earlier leaks, the hype is still very much alive!
There have been so many rumours about a new console, the official response from Nintendo that no new hardware would be shown on the Direct (but no mention about the treehouse) and so much more. The leaks from some of the Bandai Namco games, … This E3 is proving to be quite entertaining from an outsiders point of view and now the time has finally come to show it all! Welcome to the Nintendo Direct at E3 2019!
We start the direct with PEGI 18 rating! That promises! The show starts with a massive bombshell, none other than the Luminary of Dragon Quest 11 fame is the next inductee in the Smash Brothers fighter roster! His shadow fighters are the heroes of previous DQ games like Dai from Dai no Daibouken, … Out in summer 2019!
Dragon Quest 11 remains in the spotlight for the next trailer as the DQ 11 S game is highlighted, my GOTY when I played it on PS4 and now it is coming to Switch! Echoes of an Elusive Age is out September 27!
Yoshiaki Koizumi takes the stage next! He is interrupted by Bowser, but not the right Bowser, he is interrupted by Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s very own! They lift the veil on Luigi’s Mansion 3!
Luigi’s invited to a gorgeous hotel with Mario, Peach and the others, but this hotel is much more than meets the eye! The hotel is haunted and Luigi is still equipped with his Poltergust to grab all the ghosts and suck them up. More features are announced! Gooigi is around this time as well!
Local Coop is announced in the scarescraper! This looks so much fun to have friends join in on the fun! The hotel has floor after floor of gorgeous graphics and their fate rests in your hands, Out in 2019! They will show more in the upcoming Treehouse!
Back to Doug Bowser! Dark Crystal, the new Netflix series is shown! A new game of the Dark Crystal series is announced! A Tactical RPG no less! Dark Crystal Age of Resistance! Out later this year!
Next is Link’s Awakening, this game was previously shown and this time, we got a big view at what to expect. The newly updated graphics, the boss fights, … This game looks so incredibly beautiful in its simplicity and that is not all, a full blown dungeon builder is shown!
Next up is Square Enix’s Trials of Mana is getting a global release on Nintendo Switch, Set destiny in motion with the power of Mana! Out in early 2020! The original 3 games are coming, later today they will be out on Switch!
Next up is the highly rumoured Witcher 3! We are getting Witcher on Switch, the hype is incredibly real and it will be out this year!
A Fire emblem Three Houses trailer is next! A full blown anime trailer showcasing the intrigues and betrayals of this epic RPG which will be out soon! July 26th is the day to look forward to!
Back to Koizumi-san! He introduces us to Biohazard / Resident Evil. A game famous for its jump scares and it is coming to Switch! Resident Evil 5 is the newest RE title to come on Switch and so is Resident Evil 6!
No More Heroes is next and Travis Touchdown is back! No More Heroes 3 is coming to Switch and it is coming 2020.
Battle Aliens, Kill everything and save the world, You got the guts? those epic words introduced us to Contra: Rogue Corps which is out on September 26th 2019! aside from that, later today a Contra collection will be out on the Switch eshop.
Daemon X Machina is the next title in this high octane Switch Direct! After a very promising trailer earlier on, this game now looks even more polished and it more and more looks like a great mecha game, september 13 is when we will get to play it!
Panzer Dragoon is back! This classic game is coming this winter, no news if this is a port, remaster or brand new game yet!
A small promo is run for Pokemon Sword and Shield! More gameplay to be shown in the treehouse later on!
Astral Chain is the next game to be highlighted and it seemingly got a major update from the last time we saw it! Chimeras invade the earth and it is up to you to help earth survive! We can not turn back now! Out august 30th!
A gangster game is shown next! Empire of Sin, coming in Spring 2020.
Marvel’s game has been known for a while, we got a deeper view into the game this game! A fighting game of the musou genre and it does look very nice and high octane! Ultimate Alliance 3 is out in July, more content coming in autumn!
Cadence of Hyrule is showcased next!
Sonic and Mario are teaming up again! This November you can join both and several of their friends in a complete game for Olympic glory! Mario & Sonic At the Olympic games is coming in November
Next up is a promo from Nook Inc. Animal Crossing! New Horizons is out in march 20, 2020! Keep your eye out for this newest entry in the Animal Crossing franchise. To ensure the game is the best it can be, they delayed it from 2019 to next year!
Next up is a highlight reel of what is to come from other developers, Spyro, Ni no Kuni, Hollow Knight, Minecraft Dungeons, Blades, My friend Pedro, Doom Eternal, The Sinking city, Wolfenstein Youngblood, IIII, Alien Isolation, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, DQ Builders 2, Just Dance 2020, Catan, Super Lucky’s Tale, Dauntless, Super Mario Maker 2 and so much more!
Last but not least, Donkey Kong steals the highlight, him, Diddy Kong and King K Rool are sleeping in the shack, when they are woken up by the shadow of Banjo Kazooie! They suddenly turn into the Duckhunt dog who in return gets kicked out of the screen again by the fan favourites of Banjo Kazooie! The newest entries in Super Smash Brothers! Autumn 2019!
Then the usual “1 more thing”…
They announce that the sequel to Breath of the Wild is now in development! A trippy yet gorgeous trailer is shown! What a tease to finish this year’s E3 Direct <3
