Time for our second E3 2019 predictions, this time it’s time for some Ubisoft predictions!
Timmy:
When I think Ubisoft, I can not shake the feeling the presentation will start off with a Just dance feature! Then we finally get more information on Beyond Good and Evil 2, including the fact it is coming to Nintendo Switch. A personal wishlist is a Nintendo crossover here with some Nintendo characters having appearances in this game. I know it is a long shot, but Nintendo and Ubisoft have a great relationship and it would not be out of the scope of possibility.
Further on, we got those Splinter Cell rumors and I would not rule out that game actually coming, maybe even a port of the older games to current gen consoles. Last but not least, Assassin’s Creed is getting some love, not in the form of a new game, but the Odyssey one and how smooth it runs on Google Stadia, a new streaming service that Ubisoft will be promoting in their presentation!
Nick:
I heard rumors about unveiling 3 new games. One of them might have leaked a few days ago. Roller Champions will have you compete in a roller skates derby. I don’t know how to feel about that idea but I would like to see some more. Call me, albeit cautiously intrigued.
We know already that Watch Dogs 3 will be London based so I expect more info to be unveiled during E3.
For the third game is suspect some more info about Skull and Bones. A ship focused game reminiscent of the ship mission in Assassin’s Creed IV… Again, Intrigued.
Nick de Reiger:
Ubisoft, let’s get serious. We all need and want a new XIII game. Not the one you that’s being ported to the Nintendo Switch (even without the help of Ubisoft), but a proper sequel that won’t have such an open end – okay? Beyond Good and Evil 2 gameplay should be nice, and maybe a remake of Splinter Cell? I really loved the first three games, but it went downhill from there..
E3 without some Assassin’s Creed news will be a boring E3, so give us something guys! Or even some new Anno news? I really liked the latest entry, so maybe some DLC?
Lander:
Looking back at how Ubisoft handled E3 press conferences in the past, I’m really looking forward to what they’ll bring to the show this year. Obviously, they’ll kick things off with the new Just Dance game, which will, once again also release on Nintendo Wii. Once that’s done, the show will focus on the big reveal of Watch Dogs 3. I’m guessing this London based hacking game will still release on the current generation and we’ll see all the details of it during a rather big portion of the show.
Moving on, Beyond Good & Evil 2 isn’t making an appearance at E3 but will get a stream prior to the Ubisoft conference, allowing the company to focus on other games. Skull & Bones is likely to make a return and I’m guessing the game will look a lot different from what we’ve seen the last time. It’s been a while since Ubisoft showcased the game so it’s time to pull those ships out of the shadows.
What’s more? Well, I think we might welcome Ghost Recon: Breakpoint to the stage for another lengthy look at the game. Since this game was revealed before the start of E3, I’m guessing Ubisoft has a couple of great surprises up their sleeves, like they mostly have. My two guesses for surprise games are Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle 2 and a new Splinter Cell.
First things first, Mario + Rabbids sold an impressive amount of copies on Nintendo Switch and the crossover between Super Mario and the Rabbids just worked extremely well. Ubisoft already told the media they were keeping the door open for a sequel and I’m guessing Nintendo won’t drop this new Super Mario franchise any time soon. As for Splinter Cell? It’s simply been too long without a decent Sam Fisher game, I think the time is now for a worthy return of our stealthy hero!
To conclude I’m also guessing that Ubisoft continuous their support to some of their games with new DLC for Trials, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, For Honor, Rainbow Six Siege, and Ghost Recon. Oh, and they’ll openly support the new upcoming cloud services of Google Stadia and Microsoft’s Xcloud.
