Welcome to my review of Fall of Light, which played horribly on Nintendo Switch.
Fall of Light is a story-driven action RPG set within a world consumed by darkness. You are Nyx, an old warrior who has embarked on a dangerous journey with his daughter, Aether, an ‘indigo child’ who radiates luminescence. Only together will they be strong enough to complete their quest: reach the last place on Earth still touched by sunlight.
Fall of light is not my kind of game, I will say more, I hated everything about it. This game is not fun at all, even at the normal difficulty level it was way too harsh a game and well, I gave up playing after 15 retries on the first boss. Games should not be this hard at the normal level and I think in its current difficulty level, it should be avoided unless you have masochistic tendencies as a gamer and are in love with near impossible games.
Lately, I have been very spoiled with some amazing titles, but what the hell is this game about? I mean really, I failed to even take down my first enemy. I feel like I am missing some sort of information, but even after retracing my steps, I am still not sure if I am even on the right track. The witch lady tells me I am, but can there really be a damn near impossible to slay bad guy that short into the game. Heck, even the small fry with axes always seem to get one or two hits in before I manage to take em out. You get five hearts only, so either you run past them or you die pretty soon into the game.
I loved the idea, but the way it is presented, no, this is a game to avoid. Even when you are holding up your shield, you get hit. The controls failed to lock on to an enemy more than once and it just feels like I was wasting my time rather than really playing a game. Everything about that is just so wrong.
There are supposed to be tons of enemies, weapons, stances and so much more in this game, but if it plays so horribly as it did for me, it will be up to you to see if you want to invest the time and effort to find out if it will fit your fancy…
In conclusion, if you like unreasonably difficult games, I would still not recommend this game. I am very sure there are games that are much more to your likings out there. My experience was buggy and unfair. I can not in good conscience recommend this game to anyone.
