Welcome to our review of Raging Justice, a brawler released now on Nintendo Switch.
Raging Justice is a classic beat ‘em up game of epic proportions, dragging the savage charm of the genre kicking and screaming into the 21st century! The city is in chaos! Crime and corruption is at an all-time high, with thugs wreaking havoc on every corner. It’s up to you to punch, kick and brawl your way through the deadly streets, to bring those punks to justice.
When you start playing this game, you are instantly hit with the chaos that this game brings to the table and that is a good thing. Weapons, projectiles, vehicles, punches, kicks, …. Big guys, Little Guys, dogs, freaks, dynamite throwing goons, … Chaos ensured!
Nothing really beats the vehicle driving and just running over the enemies, as fun as that may be, it is a novel idea for a genre like this. A genre most known for classics like Streets of Rage and Double Dragon. But how do you really improve on a time-tested genre that has been done over and over? The graphics come to mind, the game looks very cool and sport the hi-bit artstyle, which really fits this game.

While playing, you can also arrest criminals, which is a novel idea. Though it must be said, the main idea is to advance through the levels and finish the game within the preset amount of continues. All true to the genre and at times, you will think you are playing this game down in the arcade.
Another mode is the brawl mode, which is basically a preset stage where incoming hordes come at you. This is actually my preferred training ground for this game and if you decide to pick up this game, play here prior to beginning the main story. You will be able to really get the hang of things prior to entering the main story and that will allow you to evade a few easy downs. If you are not used to the play style, this game will come of as way too chaotic.

It takes a while to get used to the chaos of hardened criminals coming at you. But the game becomes so much fun once you do. Jump kicking your way through the screen or just kicking ’em when they are down! The game is at times overwhelming but sadly it is just little more than your regular everyday beat’m up, despite being fun and really well designed graphically, this game is just another pea in the pod in this genre. You played one, you played em all. But despite that, I do think that if you want a game for mindless button mashing, this might be the one for you!

In conclusion, Raging justice is just another pea in the pod, but does get my recommendation for picking it up. The game is chaotic but fun. If you can survive the first few minutes of playing, you are in for quite the challenge!
