Welcome to our report of the March 8 2018 Nintendo Direct! This page will be updated live throughout the direct, so keep refreshing this page if you are reading it live!
The Direct starts off with words from Koizumi-san! He wishes us welcome and he has a lot of news to share, we start off with 3DS News.
- The new Wario Ware for 3DS is announced, having more than 300 micro games, only Wario can come up with this crazy action! The game is called Wario Ware Gold.
- Dillon’s Rad heat breakers is announced next, a game that looks cool and very elaborate. May 25th!
- Mario and Luigi is up next, the Bowser’s minions game is announced for 2019, making sure we already have a game lined up for next year!
- Detective Pikachu is up next, we already knew this one was coming, but more information was shown, how it works, how Pikachu talks, … After the direct, the game is available for preload!
- Luigi’s mansion, the gamecube original, has been remade for 3DS! The game is slated for later this year.
That is all for the 3DS headlines, we move back on to the Switch!
- Kirby Star Allies is launching next week, in this direct we are getting more details about the game, like how King Dedede and others can join your team. More will be added by means of DLC later on. First free update is coming on the 28th!
- Okami HD is announced! The classic game is now coming to Switch and we are getting this game with multiple control mechanics and it is coming this summer!
- Sushi Striker – the way of sushido, originally announced to come to 3DS is now officially confirmed to be coming to Switch! Sporting a multiplayer online mode, the game is coming to both platforms on june 8.
- Octopath Traveler gets its minute in the spotlight too as Square Enix is bringing this highly anticipated story to Switch. We are introduced to new characters and the release date is set for 13th of July.
- Travis Strikes Again got some actual gameplay shown, looking to be a real smash hit and coming to Switch! Coming in 2018
- Next up is information about Dark Souls and the use of Amiibo. A networking test was announced as well as a new amiibo. This one is due for May!
A small interlude informing everyone on the new way to spend Golden points was provided, then followed again by the main title of the show, Mario Tennis Aces.
7. Mario Tennis Aces, featuring more than 15 players, providing a new variety of shots. Introducing the all new Zone spot. You will also be able to break your tennis racket in this new game, adding to the fun and obviously the difficulty of the game. Slow Motion modes are added, … This game appears to be very well balanced and more than just the regular Mario Tennis games we have gotten in the past. At first glance, this game looks gorgeous by the way. Basic gameplay is also possible as well as online play, making this game very big.
Motion controls are also introduced to this game! We already knew a Story mode is in this game, but brand new information hit us too, a free online tournament so you can try the game will come too, more information to follow!
8. Captain Toad, my personal favourite on WII U, is finally coming to Switch, thank you Nintendo! I am very grateful to have this game come to the console, also coming on 3DS in june!
9. Eventually coming, Undertale!
10. Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy is finally officially announced for Nintendo Switch! This Direct is on fire, coming to Switch on july 10!
11. Little Nightmares is also coming to Switch! A charming puzzle adventure game, already out on other platforms is now coming to Nintendo and will be out on May 18th.
12. South Park, the Fractured But Whole is also coming, Join Kyle, Cartman, Kenny and Stan on their quest! DLC will be available through a season pass or seperate purchase. Coming April 24th.
13. Hyrule warriors definitive edition got its release day announced and it is May 18th!
14. Arms is getting a new Testpunch, where new players can download the demo for free and join 3 days long.
15. Splatoon 2 european championships will be held at Polymanga, where Pearl and Marina will perform as well. If you can’t go to the event, tune in to the live stream when it happens live! Splatoon will also get a new update, tons of new gear and stages. A new X Rank was announced as well!
The Octo expansion is also coming ! A new expansion that seems to be a single player mode, covering 80 new areas to go through. A fresh new aproach! We will be getting it in the summer, the pass being available now!
16. One More thing. Smash got announced in the most awesome way! Set for release this year, I can only show you this clip…
