Welcome to our review of Inversus Deluxe! The game that annoys me like crazy and I love it!
When I first saw Inversus appear on the eShop, I imagined this game to be a puzzle game, much like Polarium on the Nintendo DS, but boy, was I wrong! Inversus is a damn fine arcade shooter instead!

The premise of this game is very easy! Survive…
This game is a perfect war strategy game combined with a basic 360-degree space invader style shooter.
So, spread on a map, you fly around in all four directions. You have a set arsenal of bullets that recharge over time, each shot flips the playing field color tiles that they pass over. Obviously, you can only fly over your own color. Often you will find red bullets throughout the map, which shoots a lot faster than regular bullets. Pick them up and use them wisely!

Yeah, you are right, you need to time your shots right in order to avoid either getting stuck without bullets and getting cornered, making your ship basically just a sitting duck ready to be shot down.
This game is hard and fun at the same time!

First, Arcade mode! Basically, you have a bunch of enemies that come at you from all sides, it is your task to survive. Upon shooting your enemies, you can make combo kills and time manage your bullets! It sounds easy, but really, you will see that while playing this mode, the more you think about how to fly around, shooting not only the field but also the enemies in a specific way, it will make your life easier. The only way to rake in the big points is to be smart.

As you progress through the game, you open up more maps, each with their own obstacles and challenges! Suddenly you will find yourself in a situation where you can’t just fire away at will but you need to see what happens. Will they shoot through a side or will they end at the end? This is just so much fun!
Next is my nemesis, the 1 on 1 mode. God, I love this part, despite being really annoyed at it right now, I just can not stop playing it! In this mode, the computer is actually a lot smarter than in arcade mode. They will actually have attack patterns and strategies… Really, nothing beats a very intelligent attacker instead of a more mindless drone in the arcade mode…

In conclusion, I love this game, simply love it! I also hate losing matches. This game is really frantic and I just can not seem to put it down. I like how it keeps pulling me back in. The game is a perfect 5-minute game and I honestly think the Switch is the perfect home for a game like this! Winning maps opens up more maps and it just makes the game so versatile.
In all honesty, I wanted to give this game the full score from about 15 minutes into my initial game session. It might be a bit hard for some, but I do not think that should be a problem preventing it from maintaining the full score. My rating stands at 100%!
