Our road to E3 2016 continuous. With the biggest gaming event being just a couple of days away, we look forward to what it might offer.
This time, our crazy video editor and writer ‘Jaimie Van Impe’ gives his predictions.
Let’s learn what he thinks will happen during the biggest gaming show on the planet.
5) Bethesda takes us back to Tamriel…
That Fallout 4 has been a great hit, no one is going to deny, but what would be an equal (if not bigger) hit? A new Home Alone game by Bethesda… (Seriously, they made the NES games).
Joking aside, a new entry in the Elder Scrolls series is kind of due and I’ll be completely honest, I’m ready to visit my kin in the Black Marshes, so get on it Bethesda! I need me some horned lizard people to hang out with since my real life lizard friends are too busy taking over America.
4) Red Dead Returns!
One of my favorite games to play last generation was definitely Red Dead Redemption, the first Rockstar game I ever completed (and I regret it still to this day. I was expecting fun, not getting my heart tore out! Damn you Rockstar!!). With the rumors we’ll possibly be getting a new entry that’ll be “bigger and better” than the previous, I’m getting mildly excited.
3) Resident Evil 7 actually returning to the Horror roots
I loved Resident Evil 4, even though it wasn’t really horror. I disliked the originals because it controlled like a leaking bag of dogcrap and disliked 5 and 6 because they were… Eh…
All I want for RE7 is that it scares the shit out of me. I want a game that absorbs me and makes my triggerfinger itch each time I hear something that doesn’t sound right. Hell, make the game entirely about Regenerators for all I care. Those things freaked me the Hell out in RE4.
2) More on Cyberpunk 2077.
I only recently got into The Witcher, but I loved the amazing story from the first minutes of play. So, digging into CD Project Red’s other games, I came across a little trailer about a little game called Cyberpunk 2077. It looks promising and got me interested. Since the Witcher is done for, I’m hoping I’ll be able to dig deeper into this game later on.
1) Halo 6: Reclaimer?
While Halo 5 is still doing pretty well with its free DLC releases and 343I apparently listening to fans about what they really want, I haven’t touched the multiplayer. I only play Halo for the story (yeah, shoot me) and I really dug the way they were going with Guardians. So, obviously, I’m hoping that I’ll see a glimpse where my favorite SPARTAN-II and his Sangheili ally are heading towards. But for God’s sake, keep everyone together this time. Blue Team, Osiris AND the Sangheili Squad.
3) Rare’s glorious return.
If we can dream, let’s dream BIG. Let’s dream about Rare returning to its former glory and slapping us in the face with amazing games once more. Banjo-Kazooi Threeie, Conker’s Worse Fur Day, whatever! I just want the old Rare back, please! Please Microsoft? Can you?
2) Capcom releases Monster Hunter Frontier world wide
Each year that passes, I hope that Capcom will finally come to its senses and decides to release Monster Hunter Frontier world wide, and each year, I’m left disappointed. However, seeing as they’re releasing Monster Hunter Generations (Cross in Japan) world wide… I’m thinking that they’re finally realizing that Monster Hunter is also quite a beloved franchise outside of their kickass island. And while you’re at it, give us a release date for Monster Hunter Stories. I want to ride that Nargacuga damn it!
1) Far Cry: Jurassic Park
When they asked “What do you want for the next Far Cry?” there was an option for dinosaurs. However, we got cave men, prehistoric beasts and a rather “meh…” game.
What I want, is a collaboration between Ubisoft and Universal on a Far Cry game that bridges the gap between Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, about the reclamation of Isla Nublar. It’d be perfection, surviving the loose Dinosaurs, capturing them (with Rexy as the big prize, of course) and having to fight off the rival BioSyn company who’re also on Nublar. It’d be sooooooooo sweet. Like… Who doesn’t want that? Jurassic fans would love it, Far Cry fans would love it, Turok fans would probably love it… It’s a definite hit. Jurassic World surprised everyone with its massive box office and I’m betting a Far Cry: Jurassic Park would do exactly the same thing.
