Shenmue 3 was one of the biggest surprises of this year’ E3 but the game isn’t there yet.
It’s on a great Kickstarter campaign right now but Suzuki wants 10 million in order to make the game he wants.
That’s a lot to ask of the backers but the team believes they can make the true Shenmue experience once that 10M goal is reached. Stretch goals go up to 5 million now but that will change once the gamers succeed in backing the project with more than 5 million.
So what will happen when te game does get that $10M?
“I will say this: if we reach the $5 million mark, one of the things I really want to do with Shenmue 3 will become a reality,”
“At $10 million, it will truly have the features of an open world,” Suzuki added.
Gamers aren’t the only ones backing the project. Sony is said to help with the PlayStation 4 version and its marketing. Time will tell if we’ll ever see that Shenmue everybody’s hoping for!
