Velocity®2X blends two unique styles of fast-paced, frenetic gameplay into one incredibly fun and challenging SF experience.
Lt. Kai Tana, a former Test Pilot was captured by a race of hostile aliens. During her captivity, Kai’s body has undergone various cybernetic modifications. Free by a precious ally, she must now use her new abilities and the teleporting power of the Quarp Jet to evade the Vokh and free the universe from this dangerous threat.
Pilot the Quarp Jet at full speed with the Boost feature; use a variety of weapons to defend yourself and master the teleporting technology to outsmart the enemy in this race-tuned space combat. Dock your ship and run around on foot with Tana to infiltrate enemy bases. Teledash through the levels, shoot at 360°, slide and defeat the evil alien race from within!
Velocity®2X is above all a great and fast-paced experience. It has two completely different genres blend into one game, which is sometimes a little confusing to keep the momentum going, but that is mostly when you tap the wrong button and end up damaging yourself.
Velocity®2X won several awards in the past and is a very fun game too. Speed is the magic word and you are asked to go as fast as possible in other to really shine. When you are playing as Lt. Kai, you are running around grabbing gems, jumping pits and avoiding enemies. You slide underneath parts of levels only to speed up and do a huge jump over others. All while making sure you keep moving and when you hit the wall, you just phase through them and keep going.
It is a pure rhythm game in itself to keep going at times, but it never feels like one. This is a great action game that is just so high paced, it is sometimes too busy, but nothing wrong with that, Velocity®2X is awesome.
Once you enter your spaceship, once again everything is about time. Clear the levels as soon as possible. Destroy enemies, rescue friendlies, dock when needed and proceed on foot. Velocity®2X is the whole package, both game styles have the phasing through obstacles option and especially in the flying section will it sometimes hit you that you need to do a lot at once. That may be the sole thing wrong with this game, you do get a lot thrown at you at once.
Personally, I enjoyed it very much, high paced yet fun is still very much present. There is also a main storyline, but you know me, I will always let you experience the story for yourself.
In conclusion, Velocity®2X is quite the experience and is more of an adventure than it would let you believe it to be. Either running or flying around, avoiding obstacles and at times just struggling to stay alive, prepare to immerse yourself in a true adventure like no other.
Velocity®2X might be my favorite game right now!
