News: Overwatch boulevard #6

Remember when Jeff Kaplan said in an earlier Overwatch Boulevard that 2017 will be a good year for skins and other stuff? Well, it will be! And get hyped for the anniversary of Overwatch the 24^th of May because it looks like there will be much happening!

This Overwatch Boulevard will be mostly about datamined objects. I am in the middle of this method. On one hand, I want to leave it to Blizzard on reporting the news firsthand. They know when or how they want to report it. I don’t like spoilers either. But on the other hand, everyone wants to know what happens right?

New heroes

When I first saw the recall short, I immediately thought about who the heroes were that Winston actually recalled. We had a whole array of heroes passing rather quickly. If we can believe a certain 4chan user (whom also precisely described Orisa as a female quadruped omnic from western Africa before she was released) soon enough there will be 2 heroes whom we never heard anything about. This Reddit user claims to be representative of Blizzard and just wants to leak some stuff. And apparently, Jeff Kaplan wants to release a hero every quarter of the year. So for the first, we had Orisa, the second one will be Doomfist, the third Bria and the fourth Ivon.

Doomfist

Doomfist will be a Reinhardt/Lucio combo with a 1 hit kill ult! And a knockback effect for everyone standing 5 meters away from him.

Bria

Bria will be a so-called area denial hero. Somewhat like Mei but better. Apparently, she will have the same wall ability but it charges faster? That is what I get from it. She can lock off routes and areas for her team to assist them. Her ult consists of electrocuting anyone between those walls.

Ivon

Ivon will be defense hero that uses swarm bots to accompany him. He can control them with his abilities and his ult doubles them. The user describes it as a Torbjörn / Symmetra mix.

So I am very skeptical about this. It looks really cool! And although I would think another event now is just a bit much, I look forward to it. I mean events should be special but anyway they just can’t let their Anniversary slip by can they?

Event? Skins? Maps?

So many of us know that the 24^th will be the 1 year anniversary of Overwatch. Some have found proof that there is an event underway! Dataminers have found out that Mei gets 6 new cosmetics in the last PTR update. But it is called event 6? What is this 6^th event? As much as I love new events and skins, I think it is a bit soon right after the Uprising event. But after that, I guess it is going to be a long time until Halloween until they have a new event? At least I think so.

Some people though think that it is too early for Doomfist to come out. They do have some proof. The datamined update shows no signs of a new character underway, only cosmetics.

But! We do have signs of a new map! Yes, ladies and gentleman we (hopefully) get a moon map! And this opens quite some perspectives. For instance, we could get another PvE event with the uprising of the apes on their moon base. Imagine that this map could have lower gravity? Would be very fun right? I am looking forward to it!

Loot Boxes

So recently in China a law was signed that basically obligates Blizzard to show what probability there is to their loot in the loot boxes. We can assume that our loot boxes aren’t different than in China. So apparently you get an epic item every 5.5 loot boxes and a legendary every 13 boxes.
