The Razer Blade 14 is the newest member of the ever-growing Razer laptop family and brings something new and powerful to the table. With 13″ and 15″ models already on the market, the Blade 14 fits right in between with its portable yet gorgeous 14″ screen. Don’t let its compact size fool you, this is another one of Razer’s gaming beasts ready for your next adventure.
Out of the box
The moment I unboxed the Razer Blade 14, I was already impressed by its size and weight. It’s a rather compact and lightweight laptop that’s easy to carry around everywhere you go. Thanks to its size it’s very easy to carry around in a small bag, meaning you’ll have no trouble at all carrying this gorgeous device to continue your work while traveling. To make it even better, the device is rather light, yet very sturdy thanks to its metal casing. If you take a look at its specs you’ll quickly learn that this little beauty is capable of all your tasks. Want to edit your photos or 4K videos on the go? It’s all just a walk in the park for the Razer Blade 14, making it an ideal companion for the designer (and of course also for all other professions out there) who likes to play intense games during the break. Out of its box, the Blade 14 looks extremely stylish with its black metal casing supported by the iconic bright green Razer logo. The design is modern and smooth while the logo is a true eye-catcher, if you’re using this laptop on the go, everyone around you will notice you’re playing with power. It’s a design we’re used to when looking at the other Razer products but it never gets old, why change a winning formula, right?
Can it run DOOM?
Having so much power under your fingertips is great while working on some CPU-heavy projects but since it’s a Razer product, it is created to fulfill the needs of the modern gamer. Housing an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3080 (8GB VRAM), AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900HX Processor, 1TB SSD (M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4), and 16GB DDR4-3200MHz (Fixed Onboard) this baby is able to play all the newest games without any sweat. So to answer the question, it can certainly run DOOM, it can even run every game currently on the market. I tested the laptop while playing Microsoft’s Flight Simulator and was amazed by the quality of the graphics. The gorgeous 14-inch QHD 165Hz, 2560 x 1440 display makes it even better, really making the games you’re playing coming to life. A downside is perhaps its 14-inch screen which is perfect to game on location but if you’re gaming at home, I would recommend using a bigger monitor. Luckily, the Blade 14 is equipped with all the ports necessary to grant you the smoothest gaming session possible. If you’re looking for a powerful yet compact gaming laptop, this is certainly one you should have high on your list.
To make it even better, the Blade 14 manages to keep things rather cool while playing demanding games. Sure there’s still some noise while playing but if you’re using one of Razer’s fine headsets, you won’t have a problem with the cooling. It’s important that a laptop like this doesn’t overheat and compared to other gaming laptops on the market, I must admit I was rather surprised by its cool temperature even after some longer gaming sessions. This, once more, showcases the professionalism of Razer. The company really delivers time after time and this one isn’t the exception.
Conclusion:
The Blade 14 is another impressive gaming Laptop that’s perfect for playing all modern games. Its compact size enables you to carry it around with you everywhere you go. Although the screen is pretty small, its impressive QHD 165Hz, 2560 x 1440 display easily sucks you into your favorite virtual world. If you’re looking for a powerful, yet compact gaming model this is without a doubt your number one choice. Razer never disappoints and the Blade 14 even exceeds all expectations.
