Welcome to our impressions of Judgment on Google Stadia, we played the game before on PlayStation and now got our hands on the game on Stadia.
As I have already reviewed Judgment and shouted its praises, I wanted to see how a mid-level game in terms of pure action would fare on Google Stadia. I had previously played it on PS4 and my review can be found here.
This article is all about how it performed on Google Stadia and whether or not it is properly playable or not. I have had a few hits and misses on the platform and now it is time for a game in between relaxed and high speed such as an FPS. As Judgment is a live played RPG, I was very much curious to see how it would fare.
Spoiler Alert, better than I anticipated.
Let me start with the bad things, mostly pixelations during high-quality cut screens. As some of you might know, my internet is among the better in my country and everything inside the house is wired, I play a lot of games online and I want the best possible experiences, hence going all out in my previous investments of the house.
My statistics while playing this game, as per usual, in between 60 and 70 download and a mere 18 average on upload, but that is still fine, considering someone in the house was doing some Netflixing and I have had games to try at much lower speeds, so overall, I was not disappointed in my statistics for trying the game, sadly this speed proved insufficient for the cut screens, which seemed to lag a little when switching sceneries or close-ups. Nothing disturbing, but I must say, it paled in comparison to the actual gameplay which was totally fine.
Even during combat with more than a handful of yakuza, the game never really lagged or got pixelated which was noticeable during gameplay. Now I did record some footage on my laptop and while it did show minor blurring in backgrounds, it was honestly speaking nothing that I noticed during playtime.
I did have some strange audio bug at first, but that was resolved by simply restarting Stadia as a whole. I have had this issue before on my Chromecast Ultra, but never before on my laptop, so not sure if this is hardware-related or just unlucky timing? The issue itself? I kept hearing some background sounds twice, like the left and right channels did not properly align. I have contacted my friends over at Stadia about this, but have not gotten any feedback from them yet.
Overall, I must say this experience has actually been great. Stadia is as good as your internet is, but Judgment did do its work in delivering a fine game. Dropping the game on one TV, picking it up on my laptop later, switching back and forth, is what Stadia does best and Judgment is a fine showcase of what games can be and can deliver.
As I previously reviewed the game and gave it a 9, I am still firmly behind that score and nothing on Stadia led me to change that either, I had fun once again and no complaints about the service.
