Welcome to our second review of Miles and Kilo, released two years ago on Nintendo Switch and now it is coming to the 3DS. Yes, you read that right, the 3DS is getting a new game that is well worth your time.
Almost two years ago, I reviewed Miles and Kilo on Nintendo Switch. I recall it being a great game and I even gave it a solid 9 as its score. The game was great, played great and despite a higher difficulty level, it kept me going. In the end, I never did finish it completely and this time, I got a second chance at it.
Now, if you want to know about the actual game, I will simply recommend reading my old review here:
I reread it and still stand behind everything I said and even for this new version on 3DS, I agree with everything I said. Short and Easy review wouldn’t you say? Not so easy for myself though. I will say a few short words about this edition on 3DS. The game plays exactly the same, but what I noticed, as awesome looking as this game is, it has a small button mapping issue that I found mildly annoying due to the small size of the buttons on the 3DS.
Remember that layout of the classic NES buttons, the A and B. When I grew up, those buttons were big and comfy to play with my kids’hands and Miles and Kilo does the same approach. But now imagine me having grown up and having big hands, but that darn 3DS has even smaller buttons than any other console or controller.
Needless to say I did once or twice miss a button press due to my big fingers, an issue I did not have on Switch surprisingly enough. I think the longer screen is to “blame” for this. I did redownload it on Switch to verify and yep, the game just slightly plays better because of this.
You can see me coming from a mile away if this is my sole remark to make, right? Well, wrong. I will say that if you like the 3DS as much as me, I would recommend picking it up. It is late to the party but one heck of a game!
In conclusion, better late than never?
