These past few years we had a lot of good “one more thing” moments but this E3 it felt like it was used too much and lost its power. But then the Nintendo Direct kicked in with some Zelda magic!

Nintendo had a strong Direct and topped it off with a bombshell reveal after the magic phrase “One more thing”. We were treated to the aftermath following the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link and Zelda venture through the remains of catacombs, probably stretching underneath Hyrule Castle. They look worried and determined while examining the hollow corpse of what seems to be Ganon. Mummified and without life. A dark aura is omitting from his corpse.

It seems like he is suspended by some device Link uses to grab him using a conjured hand. This hand reminded me of Midna’s limbs when she used her attacking form and even the hand that sprouts from her head when riding Link in Twilight Princess. The color is off, but the teal glowing color is very present in the Twili world.
Another link to the Twili style I noticed were the markings on the upside down pyramid hanging from the ceiling. They are not like the rounded Jomon inspired seen on the shrines but are way more like the angular style seen in Twilight Princess.

I may be looking too much into something that’s only there for aesthetic reasons but some theorists claimed that the Twili are the descendants of a split group of Sheikah who were cast off because their magic was deemed too dark and controversial. Maybe this is the story of that group and how they revived the dark demon king again?
One thing is sure, Breath of the Wild features a gigantic map and now that some time has gone by we sure hope the developers will fill this vast world with more content. After a while, the vast emptiness of the map needs more content to keep us entertained in this same Hyrule a second time! But since the world has already been shaped I’m sure they’ll spend more time polishing the map into its best version ever!

So what do you think? Is there a link with the Twili? Or did you notice something else entirely?
