Welcome to our review of Eekeemoo, a great third person adventure game with loads of bugs on Nintendo Switch.
In this awesome third-person adventure game you will help Eekeemoo rescue his friends from the clutches of the evil Dark Shard! Your quest will take you deep into the Dark Shards four corrupted splinter worlds.
You’ll help Eekeemoo solve puzzles, complete tasks and battle monsters, legions of the undead and hugely terrifying boss monsters!

Take heart though! As you find and release each of Eekeemoo’s friends (there are 4 unlockable characters with different powers) you will be able to use their powers to solve the next set of problems.
Eekeemoo might be the game with the biggest potential of any that I have played in a long time, but sadly it is buggy and with the lack of any tutorial or basic guidance, it’s a bit of a hot mess. When you start your gameplay, you may not even know what to do or how to do it. There is no basic tutorial so you have no clue at all how to play. I guess this one button is attack and the other makes you jump?
The lack of a map is also a clear indicator this game is not up for making a splash on the Switch eShop. At one point in the second level, the camera moves to the other side of the field and it is clear that a wave of lava is incoming, but you can not manually change it. So you are going against your viewing angle which was just hard and a useless experience really.

Once you free up one of your friends, apparently you can switch between them! I found this out after about 20 minutes of mindless wandering around. I feel stupid to write this, but I felt it necessary to mention I had this experience. The game could have had a very basic screen up to say “press this button to switch”. I still doubt which button does the trick as switching between characters is very buggy, to say the least. One time it is instantly, the other time feels like forever and I mean more than 5 actual seconds. A time frame that is way too long when 30 small enemies surround you.
As I said before, this game is a hot mess, on one hand, you get this darkish game with a very low price point to bring a good experience to the table, but on the other hand, all those bugs are destroying a potentially amazing game. As this experience was mediocre at best, I have to be strict when giving it a rating.

In conclusion, a very promising game but so poorly executed. Alas really, I really would have loved a polished version of this game which would most likely easily score 80 or up, but with the current bugs and all, my rating is sadly stuck at 40%…
