Welcome to our review of Drone Fight, a new racing game on Nintendo Switch battling for the top spot.
Drone Fight is a game that is facing the hardest of challenges. It has to compete with 1 thing. It has to provide an experience that is at least as cool as flying a real drone. So did it succeed? Read on to find out.
When I think about flying a drone, especially competitive or racing oriented. You think about flying through obstacles and up, over and under hoops, like a futuristic space fighter. A drone makes it possible to experience this in person without actually spending billions to build your own space fighter haha.
Drone Fight aimed to bring the same sensation, this is clear. You do fly in between trees. You maneuver through hoops, fly into tunnels and so much more. At first, you pick your drone of choice, just 4 are available. You start off by playing a very clunky tutorial, where flying through the hoop triggers the next event of information.

What really bugged me, the drones fly so clunkily and nothing at all compared to the real deal. Not even coming close to an actual race game and well, to be really blunt, I have played better racing games on mobile than this. It just doesn’t stop there. Moving up and down, it is all just too slow. Even in the higher cc ranges, it still does not feel natural.
I wish I could be more positive but sadly it is not ready as a game. This game’s biggest enemy is the real deal and it does not even come close. Sure, you get items to help you out. You can learn the fields you race in, but the game does not offer enough of a challenge to really capture your attention and keep you playing.

When I started the CPU Battle, one of the two play styles, the other being time challenges, I came in first in my first 5 games. I had no challenge whatsoever and in the end, games should have a little more content than that. Drone fight is just a small offering of a game and despite the smaller price point, it is not worth bothering picking it up. I dislike breaking down games, but I just cannot be positive. It is a small but cheap game with no added value to anything you might already own.

In conclusion, this game is not fun, it feels unpolished and clunky. I can only advise against buying it and thus my rating will be a low 20%.
