Welcome to our release of Aqua Kitty UDX, an ode to old-school arcade shooters!
AQUA KITTY UDX blasts onto Nintendo Switch in this enhanced Ultra Edition including an all-new epic Dreadnought mode!
You and your team of milk mining kittens have overcome a fear of water to drill down under the ocean seabed and begin extracting vast reserves of what seems to be naturally forming full-fat milk.
Get ready for fast paced submarine action, defending the kittens from disruptive mechanical sea creatures.

The additional Dreadnought mode takes you deep down into the Meowiana trench. There you must fly through and destroy huge multi-screen enemy craft, whilst rescuing imprisoned kittens.
Aqua Kitty is actually one of my favorite PlayStation Vita games, it really is. I love how you have the storyline with multiple approaches, go all out and protect all your kittens or just slip past the level by sacrificing all but one of your kittens. This game has a lot to offer in an endless oceanic world.

True to a more classic style of an arcade shooter, this game has all the basics you might remember from the classic arcade shooters. As you progress, slowly but surely the enemies become more varied and obviously more powerful as well. The variety this game offers is pretty darn intensive. I remember from my old gameplay on the Vita that I often just had levels where I just tried my hardest to stay alive, this is still a very active feeling at times right now.
The initial set of levels are clearly built to make you get the hang of things and that is perfectly fine, just don’t make the mistake of underestimating how big of a difficulty spike there is. You will hit a wall at a certain point where you may opt to go for just clearing the levels rather than making sure all your kittens survive.

As you soar through the depths of the sea, soon you will be familiar with the term “bullet hell” as well, seriously, do not underestimate how hard this game can be. But it keeps being fun and it does not get overly annoying or too hard to beat. This is why I love this game so much. I have often spoken out against games with an overly difficulty level. But it is really all up to you, go for a quick clear or all out perfect score. Only thing is, will you really do this to the cute kittens in need of their milk?

In conclusion, it is clear my entire review has been a big love letter for this game. I think it is amazing and I think the portability of both the Vita and the Switch are perfect for a game like this. Add in a cool soundtrack and an endless mode, it is sure to keep you busy for a longer time. However, once you do finish it, the endless mode might not be enough to keep you going back, though I must say, considering the very quick loading times of this game, it might just do the trick after all!
