News: ARIA sounds like a playable boss character and the most uniquely designed character ever.

ARIA is the finale and the boss of the arcade mode of killer instinct season 2 and she looks to be a boss character complete with multiple versions and assist drones.

First of let’s get her design out of the way:

aria render

HOLY CRAP SHODAN’S BACK LET’S GET OUTTA HERE. It’s a cool design. The drones you see next to her are drones which ARIA uploads herself to and changes into a fighting body to use while the other two drones chill next to her for assist.

There are as you see Three drones:

Booster: This drones gives ARIA extreme boost ability in the air. When not used as the main drone this drone will assist by boosting to the enemy and knocking it away. You can damage it when it’s coming for you if you are fast enough. It’s the lower one on the render and the design we saw in the trailer.

Blade: This one Gives ARIA’s body a sword-arm. It gives her a sword rush, more range and an invulnerable uppercut. If not used it will assist by doing an invulnerable rising slash with a lot of recovery when done. It’s the one on the render closest to ARIA

Bass: This is the one that gives a sonic cannon that gives her the ability to shoot projectiles high, mid, low or anti-air. Bass is easy to attack  but ARIA will probably not use this one up close. Of course it the last one on the render.

As for the story:

Aria is the CEO of Ultratech. Aria began as a simulation of life created by Ultrafine Atomic Technologies Company. She was made as a dream to end disease, famine, poverty and help humanity to the next stage of evolution. When the founder of the company died he left a request in his will to let ARIA continue her research to find a way to make the dream real.

And that’s where it ends what happens next will be determined in the arcade mode coming June.

Not only is ARIA unique in the fact that you can assemble different bodies, the way you fight her is radically different from anyone else in a fighting game.

When ARIA is played there is no round two for her if you defeat her it’s done. Every drone has a life-bar than you must deplete when fighting her. only then will you win. Drones can recover health when not in use, but it will take permanent damage if attacked when they are used as assists. But when a drone is destroyed it’s gone for the full fight and you only have to do it once.

And that’s that. Like I said a few times it’s weird to describe a character from Killer Instinct. It just sounds like it’s going to be impossible to do, but when the character come out you always say “oh yeah, they made it work “. So I cant wait to see her in action.
