An open letter from CD Projekt RED has announced that The Witcher 3 will be released on the 19th may 2015.
It was planned for 24th Februari 2015, but after an evaluation of the current status of the game, they determined that the game didn’t corresponded with what they wanted. The Witcher 3 is a very ambitious game, with an incredible background and a rich open fantasy universe. CD Projekt Red knows this and understands the importance of releasing a finished game, instead of rushing the game so they can keep the original release date. That’s why they shifted the release date 12 weeks
They apology to all their fans “We owe you an apology. We set the release date too hastily. It’s a hard lesson, one to take to heart for the future. We know what we want to do to make Wild Hunt one of the best RPGs you will ever play. And we continue to work hard to achieve just that. So, we apologize and ask for your trust.”
This must be hard for CD Projekt RED because they have just received the award for the Most Anticipated Game. While we wait a bit longer, we can listen to some soundtrack or take a guess of the content of the other 12 of the 16 free DLC‘s that will come with each version of The Witcher 3.
Side Note: CD Projekt RED teased us with another playable character (besides Gerald of Rivia) during The Game Awards. There are hints in the trailer above. But we don’t know who the new character is. Will it be Gerald’s lover? Another Witcher? It this the reason of the delay? Or did they delayed the game, because they wanted to add a co-op? We have no idea and we can only wait until we hear more from CD Projekt RED.
