Rockstar has revealed Grand Theft Auto Online. The ambitious multiplayer for Grand Theft Auto 5.
Going online with GTA gives you a “dynamic and persistent” world that supports up to 16 players.
Together with friends you can now explore the world, do events and co-op missions.
The player will be able to create his own new content for GTAO. The Content Creator lets you share your creations, such as races and deathmatches, with the world.
Rockstar Games promises to expand and evolve the game after its launch with new content. This includes new stuff as wel as old stuff.
Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies:
“One thing we’ve toyed with – and we’ve talked about this before, so it isn’t a spoiler – is [the ambition] to grow this world until it’s the world. We’re just going to add on new things to it, new places all the time. We’ve set this up so there are no limitations. The only limitation is the size of the disc and how much memory we’ve got.We could, if we wanted, simulate the entire world, different countries, whatever. Whether we do that or not… But we’ve got a bunch of old stuff that we’re toying with using.”
The online mode won’t be available at launch. GTAO will launch on October 1.
