In May 2024, Nacon unveiled its Racing Department—an ambitious initiative merging top-tier racing game development with premium gaming accessory expertise. The REVOSIM Pure bundle is the first flagship product under the new REVOSIM™ brand, and after my hands-on experience in Paris at a Nacon-hosted event, I’m convinced it’s setting a high standard for simracing gear.
Design and performance
At the heart of REVOSIM Pure is a Direct Drive wheelbase delivering a solid 9 Nm of torque. This offers nuanced, precise feedback that faithfully translates every nuance of the simulated road. Included is haptic feedback designed to make you experience subtle bumps in the road as well as hitting the red and white curbs on a turn on a racing track. The design speaks volumes of the intention for this first entry in the racing sim gear: premium materials like brushed aluminium and topstitched synthetic leather on the 30 cm steering wheel evoke both luxury and durability. Its quick-release system, inspired by motor racing, offers rapid swapping without sacrificing data transmission—a feature that any sim racer looking to personalize their setup will appreciate – and one quite handy to get in and out of a racing frame more easily.
Modular, immersive and future-ready
REVOSIM Pure isn’t setting out to be a one-trick pony. Nacon is planning an ecosystem that caters to every stage of a sim-racer’s journey. The base is fully compatible, thanks to an attachments system that supports both desk and cockpit installations. For those looking to go all in, the full bundle – base, steering wheel, and pedal set – delivers an experience that feels like the ultimate racing rig straight out of the box.
Speaking of the pedal set, the modular, ergonomic design is impressive. The adjustable pedals and the brake pedal’s loadcell sensor create a braking experience that feels remarkably lifelike, further enhanced by swappable elastomers offering different resistance levels – from the light touch of classic cars to the intense pressure of F1 setups. With the unmounted pedal, I got to test I did encounter some instability when braking – even with the lowest setting of resistance on the breaks. They tended to shift around, but I suspect a bit of creative positioning (or mounting against a wall) could easily solve this. When I got to chance to experience the setup in a dedicated racing frame, it was a different story. The gear felt rock-solid, and it was clear that this bundle is aimed at enthusiasts who are ready to invest in a complete cockpit experience – or at least are planning to.
Mobile app adds immersion
One of the standout features is the REVOSIM mobile app, which transforms your smartphone into a smart dashboard. Beyond basic telemetry, the app allows for customized profiles – ideal for fine-tuning force feedback, button configurations, and pedal settings. Whether you’re using a profile recommended by a pro gamer or one shared by a friend, this community-supported customization promises to make switching between games effortless and deeply personalized.
Rapid expansion
REVOSIM Pure is positioned as the benchmark release in Nacon’s new REVOSIM line, with plans already in the works for future updates. With interchangeable wheels – soon to include additional models with varied shapes and finishes – and a throttle pedal. Nacon isn’t resting on its laurels. Gamers won’t have to wait long until these additional updates/upgrades will be available. More news about these will be released at the time of Gamescom (around September 2025). Currently, REVOSIM is only available for the PC market; however, following the same strategy used for its other products, console versions could be on the horizon.
