The Razer Viper V3 Hyperspeed is the company’s latest entry in its line aimed at pro gamers. With a stellar new design and comfortable weight, the V3 Hyperspeed is probably one of the better products we’ve seen in a long time, especially in its price range. For only 69,99 you’re getting a lot of quality.
The design
With its 127.1 mm long, 63.9 mm wide, and 39.9 mm tall dimensions, the new mouse fits my hand perfectly. It’s still aimed at claw and fingertip play styles but the material and shape of the mouse made it a lot easier to fit into my hand. Razer bumped up the hump a little higher and pushed it back a little more so it follows the natural curve of your hand in the best way possible. It’s noticeable from the moment you take it out of the box if you own other Razer mice, this V3 Hyperspeed might be the best one when it comes to comfort. The soft finish allows a better grip during gaming sessions and I love how well the mouse just ‘flies’ over your mouse pad while gaming.
The new design is clearly aimed to be as ergonomic as possible and Razer really succeeded in doing so. The main buttons are easily accessible and have a nice click-feedback. It feels extremely snappy while playing especially during intense first-person matches. The scrolling wheel has a nice texture so you don’t easily slip but can maintain a sturdy grip while playing. You also have access to two side buttons which are made a bit bitter compared to the other models, making it easier to use them. All in all, the mouse has everything you would hope for and feels good while using it.
The specs
So, when it comes to design, this clearly is a great upgrade but what about the specs? Well, those are pretty impressive too! With a 4000Hz wireless polling (if you use the wireless dongle), this mouse won’t miss anything. It’s snappy and fast without ever giving you the feeling you’re not in full control. One of the most remarkable features of the Viper V3 is the use of a battery. No rechargeable option but a good old AA battery (included in the box). The battery takes the total weight of the mouse from 59g to 82g, making it on the more heavy side for professional first-person games. Personally, I like the heavier weight and I’m pretty happy with the 82g. Of course, this is a personal preference so do take this into consideration before you buy this one. Offering a a battery instead of a rechargeable option might seem weird at first but the specs are pretty impressive thanks to the battery. The Viper V3 can be used for up to 280 hours on 1K Hz polling or 75 hours on 4K. An impressive feat but keep in mind that it’s completely dead in the water once the battery runs out. If you’re a pro gamer, you’ll want to swap out the battery before the match just to be 100% certain it works. It’s perhaps a bit controversial but once it’s amped up with the battery, it’s ready to deliver exactly what you’ll need.
The Viper V3 comes with the incredible Focus Pro 30K optical sensor which can reach up to 30K DPI, 750 IPS max speed, and 70G max acceleration which is certainly impressive for its price. It’s as snappy as you would hope for so the sensor truly delivers the power you want. Out of the box, the mouse can reach up to 1K polling but if you pick up the separately sold Hyperpolling Wireless Dongle, you can increase it to a whopping 4K polling. This dongle will cost you an extra bit of money but even if you buy it, you’re staying comfortable under the 100 bucks which is pretty impressive for a wireless 4K polling mouse. All-in-all, the V3 really feels like an amazing product.
Conclusion:
Razer Viper V3 Hyperspeed is an impressive gaming mouse aimed at the pro market. It has everything you want and more, incredible specs go hand in hand with a solid design at a low entry point. If you’re looking for a new wireless mouse, this might be the one you need!
