Review: Gigantosaurus Dino Kart

What do you do when your daughter of 3 has a dino phase? Well, play a round of Dino Kart. Luckily, Gigantosaurus Dino Kart is developed by the people from Outright Games, the same studio as Paw Patrol Grand Prix; we know what to expect from them. Time to start your engines!

Drive as your favorite dino in a powered-up, prehistoric karting party as big as Gigantosaurus’s appetite! As a good kart game focused on kids should, there are all sorts of cute and tough dinos to play as. So will you be Bill, Mazu, Rocky, Tiny, or other unlockable dinos? Each has a unique kart and looks, so pick your favorite and fire up those prehistoric engines – this isn’t the Flintstones—instead, the game centers around racing through Cretacia in a prehistoric grand pix for four players simultaneously.

Gameplay

Gameplay-wise, it isn’t anything you haven’t seen before. It follows the standard setup of instant races, Grand Prix, etc. Each Grand Prix helps unlock new Dino Karters and other neat stuff to play with. Just like in Paw Patrol Grand Prix, the game offers pretty awesome driver’s assistance, which helps when the younger drivers in our household try their hand at the game. She finished a few Grand Prixs, mostly netting first and second place (and being over the moon about winning).

With a total of 15 tracks, there’s a lot of ground to cover. So buckle up, use eggshells to protect yourself, roar like the dragons, and breathe fire or throw fruit at your opponents to slow them down. In addition, the game features a lot of neat dinosaur powerups that feel natural and not forced or stolen from other karters. Still, it’s a kid’s game, but when the difficulty is ramped up, the Gigantosaurus Dino Kart races become pretty challenging and offer even the more seasoned driver a run for their money.

Conclusion

Gigantosaurus Dino Kart is nothing new or unique, but it certainly scratches an itch for those who love dinosaurs and racing. It’s a pretty good racer with excellent visuals and many options to make it playable for the younger generation. It sure will give the smaller household a good time.
