Summary: Pokémon Presents (August 2022)

It’s time for a new Pokémon Presents presentation! Missed the show? Time for a summary.

The show started with info on the Pokémon World Championships coming to London this month. It’s running from August 18th until August 21st with many Pokémon games and trading card game fun! Pokémon Go and Pokémon Unite are joining the Championship for the very first time. A large Pokémon pop-up center will also be opened with some exclusive new gear. The video also revealed the gorgeous Pikachu trophy waiting to be handed over to the winner.

We are moving over to the games, starting with Pokémon Go.  Ultra Beasts are entering Pokémon Go Fest and will be available in the big finale on August 27th worldwide. A lot of fun for Pokémon Go players!

Next is Pokémon Unite with some first anniversary celebrations including new Pokémon, and a new type of quick battle featuring Pikachu, which will be available today! This fun type allows you to play with Pikachu only. Buzzwole is also joining the madness!

Pokémon Masters Ex is celebrating its third-anniversary introducing new content called the Trainer Lodge coming soon!

Pokémon Café Remix welcomes Mewtwo! If you satisfy its needs, it can even join your staff! More legendary Pokémon are available right now!

Time for the big games now. Let’s jump over to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. We see a new trailer focussing on the different environments and Pokémon. It looks like the combination of Pokémon Legends and a classic Pokémon game we’ve all been dreaming of. More importantly, the legendary Pokémon of the boxart can serve as a motorcycle, as guessed in some rumors before! The game looks like a lot of fun with a vibrant world filled with people, Pokémon, and locations to discover! And there’s the new form we were hoping for! With a special Pokéball, you can transform Pokémon into shiny diamond-like versions.

Time for a deep dive at some of the new mechanics!

Both games are confirmed to be open-world RPGs in the Pladea region. Koraidon and Miraidon are legendary Pokémon who can transform into all-terrain vehicles to allow fast travel on land, water, and sky! You’re a student at a certain academy, including an extra course called Treasure Hunt, including three grand stories.

One story is all about fighting eight gym leaders without a set path, you can set your own course!

The other two stories hold many surprises and interesting gameplay.

Your teachers and friends will show you the ropes of the gameplay and how to advance.

The game features Paldean Forms of certain Pokémon such as Wooper! We also see some interesting new Pokémon.

Even more fun is multiplayer, allowing you to co-op the game with up to three friends to discover the region together!

The Terastal phenomena allow Pokémon to become as shiny as gems. All Pokémon in the Paldea region are able to use this ability, changing certain stats and powering up certain moves and even their type! It’s a bit weird-looking since the Terastal forms have rather weird headpieces.

The games also feature new co-op raid battles to capture some of the game’s most powerful Pokémon.

That’s it, want to rewatch, here’s the video:
