Hot Wheels Unleashed is the latest entry in a long line of rather successful games. Unleashed will be no different as this game brings out a lot of pizzazz to the game and well, it is just a lot of fun. From the second I played to tutorial to the course I just could not seem to beat, it was just going from race to race in order to collect in-game coins.
As soon as I had a few, I was able to get a new car of my choice, sure, I could have gone for a few blind boxes, those are present as well. You do get those for free all through the game and quite frankly, I have gotten some fancy cars out of them. But that typical Hot Wheels dinosaur car, that was a victory in itself. A car I used to own as a kid even, so that brought back some serious nostalgia.
The game itself is quite awesome as well, with tons of special effects like loops, flying bits, drifting through the 180 turns, … This is a fun game, while not being very technical, it can be best described as a basic racing game where you basically just give or hold gas, use the boost and try not to fly out of bounds too often. Hot Wheels Unleashed succeeds in bringing a racing experience in a very fun way.
In conclusion, Hot Wheels Unleashed may not be the racing game you have been wanting to play, but it is the one you ought to be playing. Not technical yet fun. Not complicated yet fun! Not hard but again, it is so much fun! Technical racing games lovers will not like this and the collecting of cars can be over the top if you really want to go for it, but again; it is FUN!
