Ninja Gaiden is about as classic a game title as can be. I have played the originals before, but that was so long ago… I barely remember how violent the games were and when I started replaying the game… It just all came back to me. Slicing open enemies is just part of the job of being Hayabusa, a more than violent ninja, just the way I like it.
As an action game with tons of killing and body decapitating, it becomes clear that this game series is not for the faint of heart. Ninja Gaiden is your typical 18+ game and should be treated as such and that leads me to one of my issues with the game, the number of things going on, it is a lot to get your head around at first. From swiftly slicing up an enemy to suddenly performing this ballet-like movement from one throat being slit to a hand being chopped off.
It also baffled me how much content you are getting for this purchase. Not only do you get three top-notch titles, but most of the DLC is included as well. A great amount of throat-slashing action is to be had for 40 euros. I kind of wonder if this is the new trend among these remasters/reworks. I can only applaud this decision. I love a great collection at a more than decent price any day of the week. My poor fingers often disagree from all the button mashing, but they should be used to this already, right?
In conclusion, Ninja Gaiden Master Collection is one heck of a title to own. The games are all very fast-paced and once you get used to the high-speed fighting and blocking mechanics, you are in for a treat. It is important to keep your games saved and your eyes open and your fingers at the ready!
