Welcome to our review of Saints Row: The Third – Remastered, the game has been out for a while on many platforms and recently Stadia got added to the list, we played and loved the experience!
Saints Row: The Third – Remastered gives you control of the Saints at the height of their power, and you live the life to show for it. This is your City. These are your rules. Remastered with enhanced graphics, Steelport the original city of sin, has never looked so good as it drowns in sex, drugs and guns. Take a tank skydiving, call in a satellite-targeted airstrike on a Mexican wrestling gang, and fight against a highly-trained military force by your lonesome in the most outlandish gameplay scenarios ever seen.
As it is my habit with Stadia games, I will not talk about my likes and dislikes in regards to the storyline, this game is well documented and a solid experience if there ever was one. A small side note I would like to say, I totally forgot how much driving was done in this game and it was kind of funny to see that this part prevented me from having a full playthrough of this classic.
But let me put it like this, if you have not given it a try yet, YES, the Stadia version plays perfectly fine and I actually think that the shorter missions lend themselves perfectly for an easy-in and easy-out for the casual players. Saints Row games are generally a lot of fun and this is no exception in that aspect. It loads up in around 10 seconds on my side, which does translate to a very decent experience for me.
Graphically, this game is the previous generation, so I expected very little glitches aside from the occasional small hiccup, but surprisingly that was not the case. I logged in around six times for testing purposes and this review and surprisingly, the time I tried in the middle of the night, was my least comfortable play session.
Yes, my upload was 20 and download was well over 85 at that time, but surprisingly I was experiencing serious visual issues and even the audio got to a point that I just disconnected myself and went to sleep. All other times, the performance was rock solid, even when I was streaming Death Note on Netflix, it just kept working properly. Maybe it just borked?
I don’t know and honestly, neither should you. I had issues at a time that you normally do not play anymore, at least most of us… I know a few guys that can easily go for gaming sessions at 4 am, but for me, this was a test and out of all my games, that is the only one that failed. Saints Row: The Third – Remastered actually played great every single time and should be on anyone’s buying list for Stadia if you do not already own it.
In conclusion, the game itself is a solid 8 and deserves all due credit. At normal times, it played great and it only failed when you should be asleep. I loved the experience.
