Hitman 3 was not really on my radar prior to the entire pandemic and when all of a sudden, many games got delayed and January suddenly started looking very bleak. Mind you that this was specifically for my own most loved genres and I had no idea that I would be enjoying the Hitman games so much!

Fast forward to last week when I was given the review code for the third and final game and after a really bumpy start, I finally got some more footing going on with the game and despite not being familiar with the backstory of the game, I already knew back then that I was going to play the first two games as well.

I actually can play the original stories on Hitman 3 after purchase on the estore, but I decided to go out of my comfort zone and go for them on Google Stadia, more about that experience in a future article, but suffice to say now that Google Stadia exceeded my expectations as it performed really well. I never experienced any lag or bad audio so far, but in all fairness, it’s only been two days. Once I get my full Stadia kit, more about this in a future article.

Now back to the game and my experiences. First off, the high learning curve. In all honesty, I hate that tutorial. Sure, it teaches you all the basics but it also becomes painfully clear that the game has a specific way of finishing a level, a game mechanic I immediately wanted to break. Once I got through the tutorial, it took me a few times, I finally was able to enter the actual game.

As a hitman, it is always your duty to take out enemies and try to stay under the radar as much as possible. Well, not me! I decided to try levels in all three difficulty levels and just go for full out murder on the level, literally killing everyone I encountered. I actually succeeded more than once, all except levels where there were really too many innocent bystanders like that one party I had to join…

I had a lot of fun with Hitman 3 and I can clearly say it is a very high value for its money kind of deal! Whether I was sneaking around dressed as a security guard trying to mislead the game NPCs or just being Agent 47. I loved the enforcers in the game, they can make your life harder though a simple bullet to the head usually did the trick to take them out.

I am quite happy that my shooting skills are pretty decent and I took out several enemies without really aiming. I guess all those hours playing Fortnite really paid off for Hitman 3?  Also, my favorite weapon is the one and only gun with a silencer. Nothing beats sneaking up on someone and take them out like a pro. Depending on the situation or if others were around or not, I would go in guns blazing or just sneak up from behind to push them from a balcony or use one of the found items in the game to stab them. Letter openers for the win!

There is just so much you can do and the story is great as well, though it is not my habit to provide spoilers, you are taking on your worst enemy and the story is great. Considering you also have access to all the previous content and missions, you can also port over items from later missions to take on earlier work, which is quite smart.

Not just that, there are now also one-way ports and doors in the game, making for an easier escape after you take out the enemy or on the contrary, if they are not unlocked yet, a much harder escape route needs to be used. All except when you decided to be like me and assassinate just about everyone on your way to the target. Then you can just walk out without a single hiccup like that one time I cleared out an entire vineyard and all the workers and guards. Escaping literally took me under a minute as my escape route was just body bags instead of enemies…

In conclusion, Hitman 3 on Xbox and on Stadia were great experiences and while I did finish the game on Xbox, I will be going into detail on my Stadia experiences in a later article. Hitman 3 provides an amazing bang for the buck and if you liked the previous games, you will adore this one! I became a fan overnight.
