The idea is really simple, get your shot lined up while you have time and finish the level by putting the ball. It sounds easy and at first, it really is. There is little to no real challenge in the first five to ten courses and that is the hardest part you will play. Not finishing the levels but actually keeping your desire to keep playing up. At first, it is rather boring to play this Barry Bradford’s Putt Panic Party game and it got me yawning a few times.

The game mechanic was to blame. Every shot takes a set amount of time and at first, the levels are easy so waiting 10 seconds for the initial shot usually ends up with a lot of seconds left of waiting and no means that I found to trigger the shot. So then you miss, you are forced to wait 9 seconds total for the next shot and so on. At first, the waiting actually gets really annoying and it took me some perseverance not to just drop the game right there.

But then it happened.

Barry Bradford’s Putt Panic Party became more challenging and I welcomed the pause in between shots. It suddenly all made sense why this principle was introduced. I suddenly had big courses with multiple obstacles and before I knew it, I had balls going out of bounds or into sand pits.

Barry Bradford’s Putt Panic Party suddenly became a fun game! It just took me 10 courses or so to get to the good stuff. I assume this was mostly done to get you to learn how to play? It would all make perfect sense really. I just wish the game had a button to trigger the action. I still think that 10 seconds for the initial shot is too long, especially in single-player mode.

In coop mode, that is not really much of an issue, but yeah, I mostly played alone and it just did not fully do the trick for me.

In all honesty, this game is quite fun once you get past the first few levels and really deserves a shot at your money if you are into miniature golf. I sure enjoyed it more in the end than I thought I was at first!

In conclusion, after a very long-winded start, Barry Bradford’s Putt Panic Party did become a great game and I was happy to score those hole in ones.
