Just a few more days until E3 2017, a lot of new games are being revealed but the big secrets are still out there. Today, Jean gives his predictions for the show.
5) Battlefield 1 announcing major new content to counter the Call of Duty WWII segment of E3 2017.
Since the dawn of time itself both franchises, though they couldn’t be more different, have been fighting for the throne of number one competitive shooter. Whether it takes place in space or in the muddy rat-infested trenches of the Great War, the fan base will always stay true to their side of the story. And they’ve done it before with the Vietnam update in BF3, radically changing the gameplay and feel of the game. I believe EA/DICE will announce some WWII DLC to tease and please us so as not to be tempted by the promising and redeeming Call of Duty…

4) Halo is back, with a huge SCORPIO trailer and gameplay.
It’s been a while since we heard from the chief. And with Xbox losing credibility and support it could be an extra lifeboat on a rumored sinking ship. No other franchise could revive the platform, and with the long absence it’s bound to be a big one!

3) Beyond Good and Evil 2 is finally here! Still more plausible than Half Life 3
A man can dream… But instead of turning my hopes down every year, they rise! I feel that now would be a great time to come back with the franchise. We are in the sweet spot of good development on the current range of consoles. It’s not too late neither too soon in the life cycle. And it seems like a trend lately to bring everything back. Lack of good new IP’s or are a lot of devs reaching the nostalgia infused era in their careers? I won’t be surprised to find out Spyro the Dragon back from the dead.

2) Zelda Breath of the wild will get more DLC.
What if you could visit the old, strong and triumphant Hyrule? I’d like to see a major DLC announced where you can wander around in a happy and worry free Hyrule with vibrant Castle Town and lots of secret quests and dungeons to explore.

1) Nintendo announces a wide range of new game specific Joy-Con and other Switch accessories along with some more 3rd party game support.
A Gamecube styled Joy Con to accompany the largely expected Smash Bros “DX” would be the pinnacle of fan service and the Crème fraîche in a wide array of (S)Nes, arcade and other Joy-Con accessories. Gotta catch’m all!
Devs were reluctant to head into the Switch’s development and you can’t blame them after the WiiU fiasco. But now that the Switch has been selling like TV’s on Black Friday there’s no excuse not to get involved, power specs aside. There’s a large demographic of Switch owners craving for something else than Zelda or Mario kart and they want more than Neo Geo titles to quench their thirst. I don’t see Red Dead Redemption 2 landing on the system but there are a lot of ideas to explore and with the large group of potential buyers, the extra development effort is finally worth the blood and tears.

3) Brand new Metroid/F-Zero/Donkey Kong/Mother on Switch.
Again, a man can dream but the fact remains that Nintie has to come with an absolute bombshell of a reveal. Normally they “Zelda” something out of their sleeves at the end of the presentation to make us nerdgasm but Zelda has only just released past March… So I’m sure they’ll come with something absolutely bonkers this time. An animal Crossing would be nice, I mean just looking at the assets used in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe maps, it looks like an AC game would be succulent on the Switch. But AC can’t be THÉ bombshell, not with their renewed aim at a more mature audience. Imagine a dark Metroid or even a Perfect Dark game. Nintendo’s on a roll, it’s crucial they keep that momentum and offer us at least a look at one hell of a game that doesn’t include mushrooms and Master Swords.

2) Nintendo VR
I might be hoping for something it won’t be able to pull off due to spec limitations (rendering 2 separate images to both eyes) but I think a Nintendo VR would be so gratifying… And that would also make it the first portable VR with a more solid experience than phone VR can offer at this time. Sliding the Switch body into a set of VR glasses and hear its signature ‘click’ in surround through the headset would be great! Updating Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to include a cockpit view would be incredibly immersive. I don’t think this would be likely to happen but VR is the thing right now and Nintendo could make it both affordable AND portable!

1) AGENT
Remember AGENT, yes that game you totally forgot just like that cool 4 player co-op from UBI… I want AGENT; I don’t know what it is or what it could’ve been but I WANT IT! Whether it’s crazy serious MIB stuff or a realistic FBI experience I need closure… Please Rockstar, tell us what it is or could’ve been… if not, just give us a new Bully game, I can settle with that.
