Yes after playing this game your child will instantly sell all his gaming-related gear and DVDs from his favorite cartoons, BUT WAIT it also works on adults with nostalgia cravings. Because never ever will you trust nostalgia ever again!
On a serious note:
It’s bad, it’s pretty bad. This game is BY FAR the worst side scroller I have ever played and is in my “Bottom”5 of worst games in general. But why is it bad? Well buckle up Jimmy and let me explain!
THE STORY:
Ha! What story? You just need to unlock every character and that’s pretty much the end of the storyline which happens pretty soon (thank god) besides if story could go in the negative then this was a perfect example because the characters were just pions, that’s right they mean nothing,the developers didn’t even watch a single episode of the different cartoons because otherwise they would’ve known that Steven isn’t a cold hearted killer and rarely or even never fights back. But oh this is only one mistake of many that don’t line up with the cartoon series. I mean what’s the point of making a game where every character is from a famous series but it’s just a reskin of the most basic side scroller ever made WITH bugs and glitches, what is the point in making such a game?
That’s right, money since the developers clearly made this game in less than a day, every sale is pretty much 100% profit.
The XP system and backtracking:
The XP system is so simple and abusable, xp comes from the shards you pick up. These shards can be picked up by any character even if you defeated them with someone else. So you can literally farm every character in the first level to max level. Also Be prepared to play some levels up to 4 times because you forgot something in a different stage of the game. The backtracking is so annoying but hey at least you can level up your lowest characters.
But is there anything positive then?
I’m glad you asked and the answer is… YES! They have multiplayer supported! On all platforms! So if you have 2 kids you absolutely hate , you can destroy their childhoods AT THE SAME TIME! Or if you’re an adult you can at least soften the pain by playing it with a friend. Because the gameplay is nothing to be proud of and the enemies are just round out a joke, but not a funny one.
Conclusion:
There isn’t much to talk about here, there is pretty much NO story. Repetitive and bad gameplay. You can clearly see this game is the most basic sidescroller WITH bugs and with a stupid skin from famous series just to sell to oblivious little kids and their parents who don’t know any better. But I must admit I have played worse games than this, they were all free tough. So this game wins my personal award of the WORST PAYED GAME of all time!
