Tap Skaters is another one of those simplistic mobile games that got ported over to Switch under the “BETS” principle. Not every game applies to “Bring everything to Switch”. I would gently but not firmly put Tap Skaters in that same category, gently because it was fun and somewhat challenging, but I see myself playing Tap Skaters on mobile and not on my Switch in daily life.

The idea behind the game is easy, a simple touch on the screen drops you to the next floor and as long as you succeed in the requested mission, you pass to the next level. These missions were clearly made for mobile use and are on the short side. Collect 5, 10 or 20 items and drop-down 20 floors without skating into any of the obstacles.

Another option is a boss challenge where you basically need to beat your opponent. Reach the objective before your opponent, you win!

It is clear that this game was never fully intended for Nintendo Switch as it did originally came out on mobile, being available on both IOS and android. Sadly the game has a ton of in-app purchases on mobile and from coins to unlimited continues, I do not need to say this is based upon making money on the backs of the gamers.

Luckily the game is only priced 4.99 euros on Nintendo Switch, but its price is not enough to save it from failing to grab my attention span and within minutes of playing, I was doing something else. On mobile, I do not mind, I am actually more or less used to this principle. On Switch, however, this highly disappointed me.

In conclusion, while fun for short bursts of time,    is not doing enough to keep you hooked and while it is not as bad as I described it, I just can not say I will be returning to this game. Not on mobile, where I did originally install it for review purposes, but after seeing the amounts of money I was possibly spending, it turned me down big time.

Tap Skaters is not bad, but it just did not do the trick for me. Make this one the same price on mobile and I may play it often, but in its current form, I am barely failing it.
