Special: Gaming at F.A.C.T.S. 2019 Spring Edition

Look at your calendars people, it’s that time of the year again! F.A.C.T.S., Belgium’s biggest Comic-Con, is back for its Spring Edition in Flanders Expo. At the convention, you can meet some of your favorite actors, artists or even cosplayers. Looking for anime and manga? F.A.C.T.S. got you covered too! This celebration of pop-culture is one of the biggest in the country and we went there to check out the gaming area.

Nintendo

As usual, Nintendo has one of the bigger booths in the gaming area. The company has been showcasing their games for countless editions and this Spring Edition isn’t different. On the Nintendo booth, you could go wild with some newly released Nintendo Switch games such as Yoshi’s Crafted World, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Let’s Go: Pikachu/Eevee!, and more. If you’re looking for a fun afternoon with your friends and family, the Nintendo booth is certainly one of the places to look for it.

Besides playing those great Nintendo Switch games, you could also enter a couple of tournaments. Players could compete in games like Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to show the rest of the convention who’s king. The tournament section of the booth looked extremely professional and mimics the eSports scene flawlessly. If playing in front of a big crowd isn’t your cup of tea, you could always attend the tournaments as a spectator, increasing the chances of scoring some awesome Nintendo goodies.

Looking for new games? You won’t find those at the Nintendo booth this weekend. This is mostly because of the timing, the Spring Edition takes place a couple of months before E3 so the company is holding back the big hitters a bit longer. But, don’t be held back because of this! There’s a lot of fun to have on this impressive booth and you can even spot some unreleased amiibo, so there’s something new to discover after all!

Bethesda

Moving over to another big player, Bethesda! Since the release of Rage 2 is getting close, Bethesda thought it seemed wise to promote this crazy title a bit more. Instead of offering tons of playable demos, they went with a more innovative approach. In celebration of the game, you could go over the Bethesda booth to make your haircut post-apocalyptic proof. Mohawks in crazy colors? Bethesda’s got you covered! A couple of hours after the first visitors entered the convention, you could easily spot those who visited the Bethesda booth. Their colorful mohawk in combination with a Rage 2 shirt made it clear that Bethesda knows how to party. Not your typical booth but that’s exactly why it grabbed our attention.

More fun

As if this wasn’t enough, there’s plenty of other stuff to do in the gaming area. Ranging for indie games to virtual reality and even retro games, there’s something for everybody. Omen also had one of the bigger booths, including some live streaming sessions and some playable games. If you’re a fan of gaming, it’s clear that F.A.C.T.S. wants you to have a great time. It’s the perfect convention to visit with your friends or family since there’s literally something to discover for everybody.

Conclusion:

As always, F.A.C.T.S. didn’t disappoint at all. Although the gaming area doesn’t really offer something new this time, it’s still a great area to spend some of your time. If you’re a fan of videogames and you’re still looking for a fun activity for tomorrow, this certainly got you covered. From Indie gaming to Virtual Reality, there’s fun for everyone in the gaming area!
