Welcome to our review of Drowning, which is out on the Nintendo Switch but is more like a book than an actual game!
Drowning is a short game about a boy who quickly discovers he has depression in his earlier years of high school.
Walk through a variety of beautiful low-poly environments as a story unfolds about how he learns to live with his inner demon. You will play in the eyes of a young boy starting out high school in year 7, and play through his following years, where he learns that living with depression is like living with someone trying to put you down all the time. Walk through all the beautiful environments with a lovely soundtrack that suits the current mood of the game, and find all the hidden endings.
As I do not have the habit to give spoilers, this review is going to be a short one as it is for you to decide whether or not to buy this visual book. All you basically do is walk around (or run by pressing B) and follow the laid out path to the end of the story.
This title will last you around half an hour to “play through” and while it was special, I do not really know whether to advise it or not? I did enjoy the read but the walking around in the environments became quite boring after a while and regardless of how nice it looked, you had to keep pressing the run button in order to not fall asleep in the beginning.
in conclusion, much like the actual title, I am keeping it short. I think this is one where I will skip out on giving a rating as it is not a game but really a storybook adventure. I would personally only recommend it if you like reading and if you do not, keep the cash in your pocket.
