NEWS: Nintendo Network big push to capture the digital market

Nintendo finally revealed the full truth behind their new ‘Nintendo Network’ service.

Unlike the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Network really will be the answer to PSN and Xbox Live. Learn more about this service inside.

During a financial briefing to investors Nintendo revealed their plans for the Nintendo Network. This Network is already being used in Mario Kart 7 and will support both the 3DS and WiiU in the near future. But what does it mean?

First of all the Nintendo Network will be the big step forwards to DLC on Nintendo consoles. Although Nintendo didn’t always spread their love for DLC, it appears that they’ll finally decided to hop on board.

But there’s more, Nintendo is also playing to release full retail games up for download on WiiU and 3DS. Just like Sony is doing with the PS Vita.

The Nintendo Network will also give you the ability to create a user account on your console and even your other family members will be able to create their account on the system. This means the end of the account that was linked to your console, just like on the Nintendo Wii.

Last but not least WiiU will support NFC tech. This means that physical objects like pre-paid cards or action figures will be able to carry information with them, information that can be read using your WiiU. This opens up new gameplay opportunities.
