Review: T3 Arena (Mobile)

So, before you read this review – Yes, I play games on my phone. Some can be played on other platformers, but mainly because they are available through apps like Apple Arcade services. If you can’t stand people playing games on their phones, click the big red/grey cross in the right corner of your screen. For those still here – T3 Arena is much more than the Wish version of Overwatch. It’s a great and well-planned shooter you should try if you like these games.

T3 Arena

The main premise of T3 Arena is to join a team of three players and go head-to-head against another team in each battle. Working with your team will be essential as you move across the map and try to ambush your opponent. During battles, you’ll control your character’s every move from a third-person perspective as you try to hit each enemy with a well-aimed bullet. Sounds a lot like every other shooter out there, doesn’t it. Well, it’s hard to be diverse these days, with all those shooters around. Next to these ‘three player’ maps, T3 Arena features a lot of diversity in it’s modes, ranging from classic payload and control, to destroy the crystal and coin rush maps. Luckily there is also the battle royal function for the fans of Fortnite and such.

Virtual Controls & Seasonal Gameplay

During games, you use the virtual joystick on the left side of the screen to move anywhere on the map, and the action buttons on the right to shoot, reload and switch weapons. Finally, there are also some special items that you can use to escape sticky situations. As well as competing against the other team, you’re racing against the clock in T3 Arena. Each battle is timed, and once the timer reaches zero, the game will show which team got the most kills.
For a non-Apple Arcade game, it functions really well and plays a lot more fluid then games like PUGB and the sort. Combined with well-thought seasonal challenges, ranging from playing with certain characters and playing certain modes, which pushes you outside the comfort zone. Season 4 just launched before the Christmas holidays, and brought in two new hero’s to battle with. One being a retired assassin, the other a powerful ice hockey player. Time to rain pain with your canesword or tackle players with giant snowballs.

Casual versus Ranked

Next to playing casual, you can play the game ranked to test your mettle against the other players. You are matched on the total number of thropies you have gained during the matches, so be sure to pick the heroes you feel familiar with. And be sure to pick the hero that works on the mode/map you’re playing. Not every hero functions like you want on each map or mode. For example, a bruiser type with long tackle attacks, is perfect for team modes in which you receive healing, but not that well fit for free-for-all maps. And yes, for those wondering, the game offers skins, lootboxes and all the other stuff other shooters offer as well. Just packed into a more … fun? package.

Conclusion

T3 Arena has addictive gameplay and thrilling multiplayer battles. Use the weapons you’ve unlocked to hit your enemies with well-aimed bullets as you work with your team to win battles in its eye-catching 3D environments. It looks and plays great for a mobile shooter and has pulled me in for many hours the last month; and I will be continuing to play this for the forthcoming season.
