Trust is one of the best companies when it comes to delivering quality at a very competitive price. I’ve been using the GXT 981 REDEX wired gaming mouse for a couple of weeks now and must admit I’m impressed by the quality of the product.
Cheap price, premium design
Since this gaming mouse comes at the low price of 30 bucks, I wasn’t expecting a sleek or modern design at all, when I opened the box and got my hands on the device, I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing about the design or materials feels cheap. It’s a sleek black device with RGB options on top, which is pretty impressive considering the price. If you’re not a fan of the RGB lights, you can easily switch them off by using a conveniently placed button underneath the mouse. Personally, I like the extra flair of RGB and they are well-placed in the design. While gaming, the wheel, letters on the back, and bar on the bottom of the mouse will light up, which is a nice touch in my opinion. That being said, it’s also good to know that this mouse supports different gaming styles and will fit finger, claw or palm positions easily. The best part? Probably the incredible weight of 72 gr, which is extremely light and portable.

Next to its solid design, the GXT 981 has a total of six programmable buttons with one extra button underneath the scrolling wheel and two extra buttons on the left side where you rest your thumb. These extra buttons are well placed and you can easily change the input to those buttons, giving you some extra freedom to create the set-up of your dreams. Another nice bonus is the sturdy cable, this isn’t one of those cheap wires, it’s made of an impressive material that you’ll often find in premium models and I didn’t expect to see it here. When it comes to extras, the GXT 981 got you covered and delivers everything you could ask for.
With the 125 Hz to 1.000 Hz switch underneath the mouse, you can use this mouse for delicate tasks but also for high-paced MOBAs or shooters. Especially with a maximum of 10.000 DPI, this mouse delivers some impressive specs for its lower price. It really makes me wonder why a lot of those premium gaming mice are that expensive. The GXT 981 is clearly aimed at the hardcore game and yet the price would indicate it’s a more mainstream model. Don’t be mistaken by that, this impressive device delivers everything you would wish for. To make it even more impressive, the GXT 981 comes with its own software package where you can modify and save different profiles for different users/games. I have to admit the software pack is rather basic but it’s not something you would expect at all. It’s nice to have some basic settings to mess around with and it certainly makes it easier to convince people they need to buy this little gem.
Conclusion:
The GXT 981 REDEX is one impressive gaming mouse that comes at a ridiculously low price for its stats and options. If you’re looking for a new professional wired gaming mouse, there simply isn’t a better option on the market at this price point.
