Welcome to our review of Young Souls, a game that is no longer a Google Stadia exclusive and it is one to keep your eyes on!
First of all, I want to shed some clarity on the title, which was once a timed exclusive. In my previous review of said Stadia game, I complimented the game and kind of dissed the Stadia service for being bad. Now we have come a long way, but in all honesty, I had forgotten about the game until my recent purchase of the Aydin Pro, a perfect handheld device for Stadia gaming when decent internet is available.
I was now able to replay the game and well, I am spilling the beans, this is a solid 8.5 game and pretty much all the disses I handed out, were all a non-issue with the game on Xbox. Goodbye to the borking and glitching and welcome to an amazing game. I kept loving the atmosphere of old-time, but seriously enjoyed the storyline a lot more. In case you do not know the story, let me copy-paste a tad from my original review.
Jenn and Tristan are two teenagers who find themselves suddenly abandoned and without a family until a good-hearted scientist adopts and brings them into his home settled within a small port town. Life in Portsbourgh for Jenn and Tristan proves uneventful. Uneventful, that is until they uncover a portal to another world that threatens the very existence of life on Earth as we know it.
Fight with Jenn and Tristan, solo or in co-op, and experience the adventures of the twins and the two worlds through a beautifully crafted story and polished dialogue. Customize your gear by unlocking hundreds of weapons, armor sets, and accessories, and then prepare to fight hordes of enemies and over 20 fearsome bosses.
For a fighting game, the fun still lies in the ability to switch characters on the fly, making it as hard or as easy as it can be. It all depends on your ability to do it as well as possible and even the biggest bosses will stand no chance. Not that this game is easy, it is just easy when you master its mechanics, which is a really good thing.
In conclusion, Young souls really shines on Xbox and with the cool atmosphere and great music to beat, you are looking at a surprise hit only limited by your desire to play.
