Razer has a lot of amazing products in their line-up, including some of the best headsets and earbuds. After the success of the Hammerhead, the company decided to improve the popular wireless earbuds with the release of V2. Is it worth getting? Let’s find out!
Out of the box
The moment you’ll buy the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless V2, you’ll be welcomed by the same tight design all Razer products have. The classic black and green box comes packed with the earbuds in a matte black charging case, a USB-C to USB cable, and different sizes of rubber caps. These rubber caps enable you to enjoy the new Hammerhead instantly. Since ears come in different sizes, it’s great to see that Razer really thought of everything to keep things as straightforward and intuitive as possible. The standard caps weren’t a great fit for me but thanks to the extra rubber caps, I quickly found the right size for my ears. Switching the sizes is as easy as it should be and in just a couple of seconds, I was ready to use my earbuds (after charging of course).
When it comes to the design of the earbuds, it’s all pretty standard. The new charging box has a more logical positioning since the left side of the box now houses the left earbud and the right side the right earbud, which made it a lot easier to snap the earbuds back inside in order to charge and store them. The earbuds themselves are rather lightweight and follow the design of multiple others on the market. They are extremely easy to use and comfortable to wear, even after a couple of hours. That being said, the earbuds do have one fun little extra in the form of Razer Chroma™ RGB. That’s right while using the earbuds, they’ll light up in typical Razer RGB colors while using them. A fun little extra which also makes them stand out. It also gives you a clear indication of when the earbuds are still switched on.
Incredible audio
When it comes to design, the V2 really improved a lot but what about the actual audio quality? The moment you use the Hammerheads, you’ll be amazed by the quality of the audio. Since it’s an inner-ear design, the noise of your environment really gets canceled out, elevating your immersion. Thanks to its 10mm driver, you’ll enjoy its deeper base and higher notes, compared to the Hammerheads of the previous generation, the quality of the audio really made some impressive leaps forward. This in combination with the 60ms low latency Gaming Mode will easily transform these earbuds into your favorite gaming partner. What the 60ms low latency does is ensuring that you won’t have any delay while gaming. The action on your screen will seamlessly be transported to your ears without any lag at all, which is crucial while gaming of course.
Conclusion:
Razer Hammerhead True Wireless V2 offers great quality for its price. It’s a rather big improvement compared to the previous generation and really elevates the way you’ll enjoy your audio. If you’re looking for some inner-ear earbuds for your gaming sessions, this should be your number one choice.
