A new Pokémon Presents just aired. It is around 28min long. The longest it has ever been before. Since it’s so long and covers a lot, why not read our summary? Let’s jump right in!
Pokemon Unite
New content is shown for Pokémon Unite. The game was released 21st of July and has received multiple updates already. In this Pokémon Presents, they revealed that the mobile version will be released on September 22th, for both IOS and Android. Pre-registration is now live and depending on how many players do so, new free skins are given out.
Two new playable pokemon are teased/shown off as well but with no release date yet. These are Mamoswine and Sylveon.
Pokemon Cafe (Remix)
Pokémon cafe gets an overhaul, called Pokémon Cafe remix. Puzzles have been refreshed with new elements. There will be new Pokémon and dress-up options added. This game will release this fall.
Pokemon Masters EX
The 2 year anniversary is upon us. Dynamizing is now available within the game. Login and scout up to 100 sync pairs at no cost. 3 Legendary events will also be returning. N gets a new master sync pair as well with more to come this year. Team Rainbow Rocket is also making an entrance starting September 15th. There is no better time than to start playing now.
Pokemon Go
Pokémon Go is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Hoopa has opened holes that make Pokémon from the Galar region appear in the wild. This starts with Wooloo, Skwovet, Falinks, Zacian and Zamazenta starting from August 20th.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
A new trailer was dropped for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as well as a showcase going over the updates within the game.
Grand Underground
The underground has been updated, now called the Grand Underground. The Grand Underground is a vast subterranean world that spreads out like a maze beneath the entire Sinnoh region. As before you can enter by using the Explorer Kit. Obtain valuable treasures and fossils by doing the mining minigame, which looks to be mostly the same as in the original. Create your own Secret Base and decorate with Pokémon statues. It is however not clear if the furniture can be placed like before. You can also interact with Trainers all over the world within the underground which even lets you dig fossils together, let’s hope the flag raiding system will return since it wasn’t present at all. In one quick shot, an item that looks like a trap is uncovered will mining, so it seems that the traps have returned.
Pokemon Hideaways
A new addition to the Underground are Pokémon Hideaways. These come with a variety of different terrains ranging from still-water caverns to volcanic landscapes, with different Pokémon living in each type of environment. They will contain Pokémon that weren’t available in the original game like Houndoom.
Super Contest Shows
Contests are also updated now called Super Contest Shows. Super Contest Shows are popular performances in Sinnoh, each put on by four performers and their Pokémon, who work together to show off their performance skills. Super Contest Shows are judged based on a Visual Evaluation, a Dance Evaluation, and a Move Evaluation. These are pretty similar to the original with some tweaks as it seems.
Capsule Decorations
Capsule Decorations are back as well. Using Capsule Decoration, you can place Stickers to customize the effects that appear when your Pokémon comes out of its Poké Ball for battles or Super Contest Shows. With over 90 different Stickers and 20 to place at one time, you can customize your Ball Capsules to your liking. Making Poffins is not shown off but big chances that it is still within the game.
Other features
Walk around with your favourite Pokémon! Once you’ve progressed in the game to a certain point any Pokémon that appears in these games can walk with you. This feature is an amazing addition and a beloved feature by most. Besides this, the union room, local and global rooms are back for trading and battling against others like before.
You can change your skin/hair colour as well as change outfits to customize your character. The clothes shop however replaces the building(s) that were used for the Game corner before. With the removal of the Game Corner in previous remakes, it is safe to say this one is gone as well.
Obtain a Manaphy Egg from the Mystery Gift available for early adopters and will be available until February 21 2022.
There are however no signs of content that were Pokemon Platinum, like the Battle Frontier and the Distortion World, only time will tell. We don’t have to wait long since the games will release November 19th 2021
Pokemon Switch Lite
A special Nintendo switch lite will be released on November 5th. This is a homage to the original limited DS released back in 2006 to commemorate the release of the original games.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus
A new trailer is also dropped for Pokémon Legends: Arceus followed by an overview trailer.
Story and Gamplay
Your adventure is set in the expansive natural majesty of the Hisui region, later named Sinnoh. Jubilife Village is the centre of operations for the Galaxy Expedition Team. The team includes various corps, such as the Medical Corps and the Security Corps, as well as the Survey Corps. You will be assigned to work at the Survey Corps which carries out research on how Pokémon live. As a member of the corps, you will be assigned survey tasks. Try to complete the land’s first-ever Pokédex by exploring every corner of the Hisui region. Catching Pokémon and complete research tasks to increase your research progress on the specific Pokémon and flesh out its Pokédex entry. Completing these research tasks will raise your rank as a team member, granting you access to new areas and new Pokémon.
The gameplay is centred around action RPG instead of turn-based and has you obtaining materials to craft items like smoke bombs, healing items, Pokéballs etc. to help you along your way. The Pokémon are roaming the wild and can be caught as usual by throwing a ball or weakening them first in battle but can also attack your player directly. Unlike previous games, you throw out your Pokémon whenever you want to battle. The battling is also handled differently. In past games, battles have proceeded one turn at a time, Here Pokémon’s stats and other factors like the battle style determine how many actions each Pokémon gets to take and in what order. Agile Style raised attack speed but lowers power, while Strong Style does the opposite. This gives the game an added layer of strategy.
New pokemon and characters
New Pokémon are also shown off. In Legends of Arceus, Standler can evolve into Wyrdeer (Normal/Psychic) and Bascullin evolves into Basculegion (Water/Ghost). Braviary and Growlithe get Hisuian forms. The Hisuian Braviary will be Psychic/Flying-type and Growlithe will be Fire/Rock-type. Hisuian Braviary, Wyrdeer & Basculegion are used to travel around the world as well.
New characters are also shown of Commander Kamado, the boss of the Galaxy Team and ancestor of Professor Rowan, Professor Laventon that gives you your starter and Captain Cyllene, the leader of the Galaxy Team’s Survey Corps, which resembles members of the
Pokémon Legends: Arceus will release January 22th 2021 so we don’t have to wait long. The Hisuian Growlithe Kimono Set will be gifted to those who preorder Pokémon Legends: Arceus up until May 9, 2022.
Pokemon Home
Lastly both Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as well as Pokémon Legends: Arceus will get support for Pokémon home in 2022 letting you transfer your Pokémon to and from the games.
