Tonight marked the big Gamescom 2021 kick-off with the Opening Night Live. Wondering what you missed? Time for our summary!
The pre-show starts Kyle Bosman and gives us a sneak peak at some world premiere trailers. The first one is KOF 15 A fighting game with 39 characters. This promises the most comprehensive and fast battle system in KOF hystorie for februari 2022!
The next world premiere is for a 3v3v3 tactical shooter called 9 to 5. With a trailer that looks a lot like some previous versions of call of duty this looks promising and can be wishlisted on steam as of now.
The following world premiere needs a buckeling up. get ready for a thrillride by stillalive studies: Bus simulator 21. The game we’ve all been waiting for! I sure as hell am ready to give it a try after having fun with the last version!
The next one is from the Dark pictures Anthalogy and will release this helloween. a Hell breaks loose in the demonic game called House of ashes. This mysterious horror game is another one to look out for!
Dolmen is set in a mining station in outer space where a catastrophe took place. This horific game looks to be an humans vs aliens shooter that has pulled my interest. Coming in 2022!
Drinkbox is the developer of guacamelee and is the dev of this next world premiere called nobody saves the world. This game seems to be top down with cartoony graphics and features online co-op. This game is coming early 2022.
The next world premiere trailer is a rythm combat game called Soundfall. by Drastic games this top down game with anime-esque graphics looks like fun one and can be wishlisted on steam or the epic game store.
The last world premiere of the pre show is from the creator of Tomb Raider. Dream cycle gives some vibes of being influenced by dark souls/skyrim but we have to see a little more to be sure!
Finally the main show starts and we get a short introduction by Geoff Keighley. He tells us more than 40 games will be shown tonight! Let’s go!
We’re starting with the global announcement of a new game: Saints Row in a western setting with modern/futuristic accents. The graphics look grate and crime, stunts and guns are to be the main premises of this game. This game looks really amazing with promises of great graphics and an interesting story but see for yourself! Finally a new Saints Row game, this took over 7 years to just announce! According to one of the main characters, Volition created this game anew completely from scratch! What a banger to start the show with! After this trailer we also got a little sneak preview of the actual game. And I have to say! I am hyped!
Another great new title from Marvel Studios is announced next. We see the avengers with a lot more characters like blade and wolverine get into an epic fight against Lilith the lady of Evil! Midnight suns By 2K games is coming in March of 2022! A gameplay debut is expected in september 2021!
Call of duty: Vanguard was already announced. However, we get a first look at the campaign of the game in action! November 5th is the release date. Vanguard is new take on WW2. WW2 is known for huge battles and all important historical location will be featured in the game. This game also focuses on some true stories of people that were a part of the special forces. Laura Baily plays Polina Petrova and she is ecstatic to be playing one of the deadliest snipers of all time! This game takes the reality and gives a Call of Duty spin on it. At the same time, Treyarch is working on a Zombie mode for this game aswel. On day one there will be 20 maps ready to play.
The next gameplay is captured in Engine and shows the first mission of Polina Petrova who started in the war as a nurse and had to take on a pretty different role! Enjoy this extended look at Vanguard!
Halo Infinite is the next game that is featured. We get a look at the Multiplayer. Funnily enought not in the Xbox games com version! At the start of the Trailer i have to say, this game looks incredible. My arm hairs stood up as soon as the famous choir chant started and am looking forward to playing this game as soon as possible (but please don’t rush it!) When Masterchief shows up the excitement just skyrockets even more! Enjoy! “Candidates, are you ready?”
Today we get the news that on december 8th the fullest campaign to date will launch together the multiplayer. Right in time for the 20th anniversary of Xbox and Halo! For this occasion there is something else up the sleeves of Microsoft! An Xbox elite wireless controller in Masterchief style now available for pre-order! And there is one more thing for the celebration as well! Another trailer is shown of a golden Masterchief with some amazing voicelines of ‘the chief’. And we get to see a golden inlay Xbox series X machine in Infinte Theme! Also now available for pre order.
Next up its time for another brand new game! This Roguelike called Cult of the lamb is set in a cute but dark setting. Shooting fireballs out of your lamb-paws to some horific monsters, what more do you need in a roguelike game?
This next game is just made by one single developer. Midnight fight express is an over the top top down fight game and does not give the impression of being made by a single developer at all!
TMNT, teenage mutant ninja turtles: Shredder’s revenge was revealed earlier this year. Today we get the reveal of a new playable characters. including the reveal of team attacks and the ability to revive a turtle with the strategic use of …… PIZZA ofcourse! coming early 2022!
The next trailer we get to watch is for a game called the Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles. from the same named hit anime.
Super Monkey ball: Banana mania is also on the menu today. for the 20th anniversary we get a fun new trailer. 12 appealing party games to monkey around with friends are shown. but take a look for yourself!
Splitgame, a game started by two students out of their dorm is setting records, more than 10 million downloads already. This is the reveal of season 0 with a new map and the new infection mode! Check it out!
And now we get a brand new look an Riders Republic from Ubisoft! BMX-ing, snowboarding and much more like wingsuits! This game is for the adrenaline junk! The beta is now public and available until the 28th of august. The game released in october.
Next is a gamescom award for best microsoft game for xbox. The nominees are elden ring, far cry 6 and Halo infinite. And Halo takes home the award!
Then we get a game pass trailer which showcases games like psychonauts, age of empires 4, forza 5, halo infinite, hades, the ascent, 12 minutes and much, much more!
Century: ages of ashes is then shown to release on november 18th , fly around as a dragon and fight as a warrior!

Now we get to know the release date and a great view of the game that lets you actually run the greatest theme park of all time. You are the one in control! At least this time you know which mistakes to look out for, right?
Far Cry 6 is the next game on the line. With the greatest villain in games of all time? Could be, it was a great idea to hire Giancarlo Esposito for this purpose anyways! Guerilla gives an important development update for their game Horizon Forbidden West. The 18th of februari of 2022 will be the release date of the sequel to horizon! There is also a patch for 60 fps support for horizon zero dawn live right now.
Amazon’s New World heads towards the open Beta on september 9th – 12th. We get a new world premiere trailer of this highly anticipated Game. According to the game director the plan is to sustain this game for a very long time. A lot more content will be released after launch. This has to become a world that you can come back to on a regular basis for new content.
Marvel releases another new game, an action open world mobile game. now available for free on iOs and Android. Marvels Future Revolution.
Tales of Arise celebrates its 25th aniversary and is accompanied by an amazing violinist that performs the well known Tales of Arise Theme. The Demo is out right now.

Next up is two more awards from gamescom. Best Nintendo Switch Game and Best PC game. Nintendo Nominees are Mario plus rabits sparks of hope and just dance 2021. Mario Wins!

Valheim sold over 7 million copies in the first two months of early acces. The next big update that focusses on base building and more has a release date. Wath the beautifully animated trailer!
The last award from Gamescom is the best Sony playstation game. Nominees are, Elden Ring, Tales of Arise, The dark Pictures: House of Ashes. And the Winner is Elden Ring.
Smilegate entertainment then drops the new trailer for Crossfire. With some views of the mechanics and maps this promises to be an epic shooter game.
Alow from Horizon is joining Genshin Impact and we get a first look of her in action! And that’s not all that Genshin has to offer. There will be a grand concert this octobre for its first anniversary. We get to see belgian orchestra playing a familiar song from Genshin Impact. Genshin Concert will be the third of October.
