Review: Little Mouse’s Encyclopedia

Little Mouse’s Encyclopedia is an adorable little game that wants to make learning fun. It’s one of the most relaxing and most educational games on the Nintendo Switch and certainly deserves the attention of younger gamers who want to learn more about nature. Want to know more about it? Let’s jump in!

An adorable adventure

Little Mouse’s Encyclopedia is an extremely accessible game made to be played by a younger audience, it’s clearly aiming at educating young children about everything they see around them in nature. You control a little mouse who will venture through different locations, all featuring different plants and animals. With a simple click of the button, you can make the animals around you move forwards, or you can learn more about them in the encyclopedic pages. What I liked most about this approach was the fact that nothing is necessary, there are no goals or points here, the game just wants you to explore the world at your own pace and look up extra information only if you want to learn more about it. It presents itself in an adorable way, mimicking some of the most popular children’s books when it comes to its visual style. I love how the game combines its easy accessibility with an impressive index of knowledge.

A rich source of information

At its core, the game is just a rich source of information disgusted as a cute little children’s book and it simply works. This isn’t a game you’ll buy for its thrilling story or intense combat, it’s a game you’ll play together with your children to let them discover the world around them. Since I’m a teacher, this is also the perfect game to use in classrooms. It’s best suited for younger children since they’ll have a blast recognizing the animals and plants they already know while learning more about the unknown specimens. If you guide the children during their time with this little gem, I’m sure they’ll learn a lot about nature in a short period of time. Although it’s aimed at those younger gamers, it can also be useful for older children, the pages of information aren’t text-dense but offer more than enough information to take a deeper dive into the lifecycle of certain creatures/plants.

The best part about this game? It’s available in a lot of different languages so children from all over the globe can easily access the information. I’m sure a lot of young gamers will enjoy their time with Little Mouse’s Encyclopedia as it brilliantly blends the fun and amazement of a point & click game with the fun of education.

Conclusion:

Little Mouse’s Encyclopedia is the perfect example of how you can make education fun. It’s an adorable little game filled with content and useful information. It offers the perfect balance of being fun and relaxing while being extremely educational at the same time. If you want to teach your children something about nature and the world around them, this is a game you simply need to own.
