UNPREDICTABLE STORY

Linelight is a smart game! All you do is move on a line towards the goal. It sounds easy and in a way, it is, just as long as you see the solution as to how to get to the end. From having to use switches to move parts of one line to another and back, to finding keys and using them to open locks, to making the red lines disappear and so much more.

The idea is easy yet the way it is implemented is nothing but easy, it is magnificent. I am a sucker for puzzle games and this one really tickled my fancy and it really got me thinking hard at times. Do I really go through the bottom side of the screen and try my luck by getting the timing right or do I go through the top and find the way to pass the enemy on the playing field.

I know it makes little sense while reading my review but when you play this game, this glorious puzzle game, it will make sense instantly. Everything this game does, it’s all about finding your way and solving some of the best puzzles I’ve had in a while. My respect for the level design in this game cannot be described in words, it is that high.

Its futuristic graphics, how simplistic as they may be, it just fits this game so very well. Graphically I would not change a single thing, I think it’s perfect in its simplicity.

The only thing I would change, surprisingly enough, the audio of the game. I can just see myself giving this a perfect score if the audio was more immersive. Not saying it’s bad, but this game needs like a Lumines or Tetris effect level of audio. I actually played the game with a YouTube clip in the background, playing some tunes that would have fit perfectly.

In conclusion, Linelight really shines hard as a simple yet very potent puzzle game and its simplicity is what makes it shine the most. If you are into puzzle games, this is a must-buy!
