Kart racers 2 is a surprisingly colorful game, amazing courses and silly racers make up for most of the fun. When I started playing this game, my niece joined me, her being a casual player but still nearly beating me. That is exactly why I liked this game.

While most people will think of Mario Kart when thinking of fun casual games like this, I do think we can put this game in the same line of games. Despite not being the typical Kart racer, there is way more content in this game, it might suffer a little from its complexity at first. Allow me to explain.

You can literally create an entire pit crew, all made up of Nickelodeon characters, to play with. I chose invader Zim for one of my first plays and right after I was given many choices on how my car would look, including my pit crew, and so on. It was kind of overwhelming to see this game being so big from the start. Needless to say, I was very surprised when I realized you would be freeing up tons more with every game you play.

Aside from this, this is actually a decent racer that had us laughing out loud despite some annoying bits and pieces in the gameplay. There was one course where I never made the jump causing me to lose at least five spots in grand total. I even tried with the boost function but still failed to hit the next parts of the road. Even my niece failed but once. I honestly doubt a game intended for kids would have highly technical parts in a game like that. I am leaning towards an actual error in the game for this part specifically.

The courses are possibly the most interesting part about this game, having both power-ups impossible boosts. Once you get a certain amount of slime, you will be able to get a temporary speed boost, which was surprisingly decent as it did allow me to win more than one game so far. The power-ups however can be annoying when used on you, as they are supposed to be. Nothing beats the hand across the screen making it near impossible to see anything in front. Even basic attack powerups can annoy the living daylights out of you, which is actually a good thing for a game like this when you yourself can use it upon others.

Having had a surprisingly good time playing the game and having freed up more and more characters and specials, I will also address the elephant in the room. No, it is not Mario Kart, that game stands on the mountain alone as the best in its genre but this game from Nickelodeon does provide us with a fun game for fans of their own series as characters like Sponge Bob, the turtles, invader Zim and some are available, all with their mannerisms and perks.

In conclusion, Nickelodeon Kart racers 2 is actually a very decent game and if your kids want it, do give it to them as they will enjoy it. Very colorful and fun to play on top of the variety of characters available, I was surprised this game was so big and should provide many hours of gameplay.
