Welcome to our review of Dustoff Z , a game that at least tries to be fun.
Get those blades spinning and load up on guns and ammo, the time has come to rebuild humanity!
Dustoff Z is a game about maneuvering combat-helicopters in one of the harshest weather conditions possible – A Zombie Apocalypse. Hire gunners to ride along and engage in a variety of missions such as rescue operations, convoy defense, and high-value target destruction.
Train and improve a gallery of different shooters, as well as upgrade and maintain a bunch of different helicopters – all with their own unique playstyle.
Use your chopper’s winch to interact with the environment. Pick up supply drops, place base defenses, bring back the largest zombies for analysis, or why not use a shipping container as a battle ram?
I am not going to lie, I played the previous games and I did not enjoy those. Dustoff Z is basically just like them but with zombies. Though not always bad, it never really played fluently and I will go into detail later on.
The main gist of this game is mostly to rescue survivors from the zombies on screen. At first, you are slowly but surely building up your arsenal in order To take on the zombies which is actually a fun approach because instead of a chopper, you basically start off with a piece of junk. You rescue survivors and eventually hope to get really powerful.
Yes, it is fun to shoot down zombies from inside the chopper but you easily get caught up in the feeling of being high and dry, spoiler alert, you are not. You are actually not safe at all at any time in this game, zombies can apparently jump all the way up to the chopper and attack it. Obviously, this is a game but it just feels weird.
Like I said before even when you are up in the air you are not safe from the zombies Anne they do a lot of damage to your chopper, making it damn near impossible to get through levels on the breeze. Sure the appeal of the game is not to be easy but to be fun yet sadly this is where it fails.
I just wish there was some sort of different approach to the entire jumping of zombies as they really feel awkward throughout every bit of the gameplay. Thus ruining the experience and my desire to keep playing.
In conclusion, Dustoff Z does try but fails eventually to remain interesting much like its predecessors. When comparing a game like this, to the original choplifter game, even the ancient game of choplifter beats this one.
