Party Hard 2 arrived on consoles after wreaking havoc on pc since 2018. Time to end all the parties and finally getting some sleep.
Party Hard Killer
In Party Hard 2, you play as the party hard killer. Frustrated by the events of the first game and the fact you still can’t sleep because of those damn parties, you resort to extreme violence. If you crash the party by killing everyone inside, you might finally get rid of insomnia plaguing you every night. As the story progresses, you’ll find out there are different motives for going all killing frenzy on the party-goers. These story elements are all intertwined between each level with nicely drawn cutscenes.

Stealth and strategy
Donning a hockey mask and going to a party doesn’t seem weird at all in Party Hard 2. Once you start knifing people, some start to put one and two together which means you might get in trouble with the police. Here’s where the stealth part of Party Hard 2 comes in play. Each level has you completing some specific kill objectives or alternatively just kill everyone. Stabbing your victims in plain sight is definitely not advisable. Looking for the perfect spot and the perfect timing will prove much more beneficial in going unnoticed and actually succeeding the level.

Making use of environmental hazards is another route to consider. Putting a bunch of jerry cans filled with gasoline near a fire hazard is a potential killing method you don’t really need to be close by. Sabotaging certain machines to act as a death trap while hiding on the other side of the level will present you with a pretty solid alibi. Creating distractions to lure a certain target away from a crowded place all while using the environment will be your “bread and butter” to get through the levels in Party Hard 2.

Party Vision and Insta-Kill
In Party Hard 2 you get 2 new abilities to use: Party Vision and Insta-Kill. With densely cluttered levels filled with multiple options to wreak havoc, you might miss out on a lot of stuff. Party Vision lets you see everything clearer than ever before. The level turns grey with the exception of your targets and the parts of the level you can interact with. This makes planning your killing spree much clearer. Insta-Kill is a special ability that grants you super killing powers. Activate Insta-Kill in Party Hard 2 and each person around you gets killed instantly. This ability has a cooldown period before you can use it again to further force you to think creatively.
Different characters and co-op mode
The party hard killer isn’t the only crazy maniac out there hatting on parties. He has some copycats/admirers who can all be unlocked to play the game. These all have different stats and a different ability to try out. This makes Party Hard 2 replayable if you wish. A co-op mode is also available to play alongside a friend. This is actually a really fun way of replaying the levels because you can no be even more creative.

Conclusion
The excellent pixelated top-down view works perfectly. The game concept is awesome for anybody looking for something different. The party soundtrack is awesome and really fits the theme. Some parts became a bit repetitive and the game is quite unforgiving at the start. Once you get how the level works, you’ll find yourself doing the same thing over and over again with some small variance. I would’ve liked some more variation but all in all had a good time playing Party Hard 2
